As Christians, are you producing good fruit, or bad fruit?

I realize that I'm posting this in the political forum but I'm doing so as a reminder to my Christian brothers and sisters that we are commanded to produce GOOD fruit for our Lord and Savior. Political discussion frequently gets heated and sometimes doesn't bring out the best in us. Let us strive to be like Christ even when others are being hateful and unkind to us.

Galatians 5:22-23 ESV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Colossians 1:10 ESV

So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

Hello Not of the World, such reminders are always a good thing for us (especially out here in online Christendom) so, as Maria just said above, thanks for sharing :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

p.s. - here are a couple more......

Matthew 7
12 However you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Ephesians 4
29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Yeah, that is why I do not post in the political forum any longer. Almost every warning I have received has been in the political or the news forums. Not good for us. My dad used to say "do not get into a fight with anyone unless you are willing to fight dirtier than they are." Because I do not want to fight dirty at all, I decided to stay away from contentiousness. Nobody changes their mind- ever. All it does is get people upset and the temptation to wander off the straight and narrow is too much for some... including me. God is faithful to provide a way of escape when temptation comes, and for me, that way of escape is to just not post here. 1 Corin 10:13,
I am somewhat afraid to even post this. I apolgize if this offends anyone. Please do not report me!

Hello SavedByGrace3, as Clint Eastwood is famous for saying, "a man has got to know his limitations" :) So, whenever you know that you cannot be a Matthew 7:12 Christian, I agree, it is (typically) best to walk away (unless you know that the Lord is telling you to stay, of course).

When the latter is the case, I still walk away, but only temporarily, to cool off and pray (until I am able to think and reply reasonably again, with the good of the other person in mind again (w/o regard to how I've been treated) .. e.g. Galatians 6:9-10; Philippians 2:3-4.

Merry Christmas!!

Politics is a dirty game, and never more so than it is now. Christians need to be wary to make sure it doesn't corrupt them, I've been guilty of this. But I also think the country desperately needs its Christians to make their voice heard in the kind of society we want to live in, even if it's only in the voting booth.
