The latest Tim Pool video claims what is said in the title above. I haven't listened to it, yet and not posting a link lest there is something objectionable said in the video etc. I will be looking more into his sources, and googling the topic etc. I do believe it, because Tim doesn't make stuff up. He can exaggerate some things sometimes in a click bait way but does vet his sources.

Anyway, thought it would be a good topic here.

Leading causes of death in Canada.

In 2021, there were 10,064 Medical Assisted in Dying (MAID) provisions reported in Canada, accounting for 3.3% of all deaths in Canada.

When all data sources are considered, the total number of medically assisted deaths reported in Canada since the Parliament of Canada passed federal legislation that allows eligible Canadian adults to request medical assistance in dying in 2016 is 31,664.

The majority of persons receiving MAID during 2021 had a type of cancer as their main underlying medical condition (65.6%). This is followed by cardiovascular conditions (18.7%), chronic respiratory conditions (12.4%), and neurological conditions (12.4%).

The average age of MAID recipients in 2021 was 76.3 years, slightly higher than the average age in 2019 and 2020 (75.2 and 75.3 respectively). The average age was higher for women in 2021, at 77.0, compared to men at 75.6.

Why should you believe Tim when clearly the claim is extraordinary and you can google it in five seconds to disprove it ?

Then you even make a post out of it without checking it. Why would anyone do that ?

Why don't people spend a minute on critical thinking if they come face to face with something that is clearly incorrect or at least looks unlikely.

It would make the job of propagandists and other "influencers" just that much harder.

So if we have 80 thousand people dying of cancer 2021 - probably not that different from 2020 - how is under 8000 dying with assistance a greater number ?

How does this make Tim Poole right ?
