Absolutely awful. What in the Wide Wide World of Sports were you thinking??

Time was an "upgrade" meant "improvement," or "added value." Sadly, on CF it means just the opposite.

For anyone who was around here back when and got to experience the fun and joy of the original site, this latest 'version' is a genuine, genuine disappointment.

That site got unceremoniously dumped in favor of an "upgrade" to vBulletin, which later got "upgraded" to Xenforo, and now this "upgrade" to some other rendition of Xenforo - and with each "upgrade" we've lost more and more functionality - and fun.

Hate to say it but, this is what the new "upgrade" deserves:

From what I understand, it was necessary due to security reasons, etc.

That's been one of the stated reasons for every change over the years - which I get, but functionality needn't be sacrificed merely for the sake of security.

I've been here for over 15 years; you've been here over 20. You know what the original site was like, the games, reps, design, customizations, etc. etc. Every time CF has been upgraded we've lost much of that.

Believe me. I’m not a fan either. But I first came here through another site after I had just married. Remember the original owner? It was fun. But there were still a myriad of problems as well. It was never perfect. But there are different issues at play now from tech to rules. We are loyal members but we are also guests as well. You have to go with the flow if you have any attachment to this place and want to continue to participate.

Yup one of the original owners loved to tweak the software. He made stuff basically whenever someone asked. But I don't think those things shifted over after he sold.

This new software isn't bad, I've not seen too many problems.

The only thing I protest is that the 'Add-ons' are from a company called 'DragonByte'.

I do miss Erwin, for sure.
