  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Great post. Very informative.
Are you familiar with this scripture below?
The KJV uses the term "wines on the lees".
The reserves at the bottom of the barrel.
As I understand it.

Isaiah 25:6 NIV
On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.

No but my bible says this:

Isaiah 25:6
New Living Translation

6 In Jerusalem the Lord of Heaven’s Armies
will spread a wonderful feast
for all the people of the world.
It will be a delicious banquet
with clear, well-aged wine and choice meat.

I could never get the KJV, it's in every motel nightstand. I prefer something more modern I can understand. I did a lot of research before I decided on NLT.
God guided a church lady to buy a special one just for me.

What are lees?

Which translation do you prefer for Old Testament reading? The NLT paraphrase is only the New Testament, right?
