Video showed the man, who was dressed in black robes and black hat and had a long white beard, shouting the words in Greek outside the building before police bundled him away.

I assume it is because of the great schism and the doctrines the Catholic Church developed afterwards. Maybe some of the things this pope spoke out about during his pontificate that has even shaken Catholics. I’m not really educated about the issues the Orthodox have with us and why. That would probably be better addressed in TAW.
