The mounting US Debt is going to sink most of our Alliances anyway, unless the Government finds the strength to balance the budget in real dollars, and begins to pay down the debt, we are just killing ourselves.

The other issue is that we are so deeply divided, and it's going to get worse.

The Chinese, and the Russians are simply going to wait for our economic and societal breakdown, then make their move.

Russia waiting for the economic breakdown of the US???? ROFL

Nigel Farage: 'No way' British parliament would vote for military cooperation with America under Biden admin
I remember listening to some Fox News bloke say something about Birmingham UK being a no go zone for non-muslims (which is a load of crap).

Right then - I knew - never ever listen to anything Fox News says about anything, EVER!!

I also (probably correctly) categorised Fox News as just entertainment. It's not what I would consider news, it's more like sensationalism. It's like a reality TV show in it's attempted effect on audience. You're supposed to watch it to get your blood boiling and get all freaked out / wound up by something - It's not there for real news.

Sadly, I am pretty sure there are plenty of people out there who would watch that news and really believe it. I hope not - but I bet some people just wouldn't know it's a load of crap??

Sadly, a good portion of American "news" consumers can't tell the difference. Entertained Americans leads to higher ratings and higher profits....

Yes I suppose it would be really upsetting to both those who hear this nonsense and believe it and those who are watching culture wars bubble over nonsense, sensationalism and hype.

I tend to agree. I would personally like to see the US incrementally disengage from NATO altogether and allowing the other parties to the alliance to take complete control of it. I don't see that Western Europe and Turkey has the same strategic interests as the US. The defense of the EU and Great Britain should be completely in the hands of the EU and Great Britain and if they align with Turkey's and the othe members of the alliance's interests as well then NATO makes sense for those parties of the alliance but I don't see that US interests are supported by remaining the most significant defender of those other members in that part of the world. Not only the incompetent leadership of the US but the crippling debt the US has incurred and is considering increasing exponentially should make the rest of NATO nervous when they consider their security needs rely do so heavily upon the US . They would be wise to make plans for the future that do not include that heavy reliance upon US military might .

Agreed 100%.

Nigel Farage is not a good barometer of UK military policy. I had all but forgotten about him.

You think MAGA supporter cares who Nigel Farage is or what is his reputation in UK? It doesn’t matter. Rupert Murdoch media all over the world saying “ British parliament condemned / denounced Joe Biden” and they take that one more opportunity to bash Biden. They don’t care that British parliament didn’t condemn Biden as collective body nor they sent a resolution to PM about it. Just few member of parliament spoke against Biden and Rupert Murdoch media all have same headline. The right wing only read/ watch Rupert Murdoch media. So to them it is true.

There's no better barometer to how Parliament will act in the future than a guy who is so radical that he can't get elected to Parliament.

…but not so radical that he couldn’t get Parliament - not to mention the majority of the British electorate - to vote for his foremost political goal.

We should be focused on peace and combating our real problems, such as climate change.

The only people who benefitted from the war in Afghanistan were military contractors--Boeing, Halliburton, Blackrock...

And perhaps the legislators who have been supported and wined and dined by their lobbyists.

Ugh.

Everything a politician does, or, fails to due, benefits him/her first, anything that comes after that, comes after that. Their vote on legislation and resolutions could help people, and could be the right decision, but it's because it benefited them first, not because it was correct, or right.

No one in our government cares about you, your struggles, or what is the truth, or what is a lie...whatever they do benefits them first.

Republican, or Democrat...it doesn't matter

They care nothing about you.
