By word of knowledge, I mean an spontaneous download of information about the present or the past that 1) is accurate, 2) there was no way you could've known that and 3) the chances of you guessing it right by pure chance are ridiculously small.

An illustrative example is Jesus telling the Samaritan woman that she had had 5 husbands in the past and that the man se was currently with was not her husband (John 4:16-19).

Another example, just from the top of my head, would be telling someone the exact amount of money they have in their wallet (assuming that it is a non trivial amount, including both bills and coins), telling someone what they are thinking (assuming that it's a super specific thought), telling someone some very specific thing they were doing at some very specific time, e.g. "you sang worship song [insert specific worship song] to the Lord in the shower at 8:00 o'clock three days ago, and after you sang that song, you said to the Lord [insert super specific prayer]. The Lord says that He heard your prayer and [...]").

Question: What is the craziest word of knowledge you have ever spoken (i.e. you received the revelation) or heard (i.e. someone else received the revelation)?

The craziest word i ever heard was 'have faith in Me'. It happened one evening when i was called to Town to support someone going through a hard time and realised i had no where near enough fuel to make it to town and back. i had fuel money but it was past 8pm and the petrol stations would be closed, this was before Town had 24/7 petrol stations.

The crazy thing is The Spirit told me, and i told Him that i did have faith in Jesus to help me, and to my utter astonishment my fuel meter rose from being deep in red to completely full, and i still had my petrol money in my wallet to prove it to my wife when i came home.

Once an anti gun advocate was speaking at a college I attended. In the Elevator, I asked her why she had a 45 in her glove box? She was surprised I knew. I let her off the hook by pointing out this is a dangerous area. Where the college was.

Once a Televangelist gave a word quoting me at church. So this would have been recorded before I said it. I often got words like that in the nineties. She said, "Don't we all have a problem with folly and ignorance?" I had said to a fellow at church that I thought he had a problem with folly and ignorance. He at first was humble and got prayer and an encouraging word. But after became offended and began to abuse me and belittle me. I needed to get away from his unhealthy influence, and the word was an error, playing down the need to be free from the wounding.

So we do need more than scripture to test words of knowledge.

I mean, the televangelist isn't wrong on that. We should always keep in mind where we are and always practice grace and mercy when we are led to give some...constructive criticism and approach it in a way that we would want to be approached. Especially in those situations where we feel it may be coming out of left field. However, we should never let that stop us from correcting a brother or sister in Christ on something. It would seem the person, instead of taking the televangelist's word as confirmation, took it to mean you were out of line. I always try to remember Galatians 6:1 and have always mentioned this when I've had to correct a brother or give hard advice to one. As long as one doesn't walk away from you or the Lord, we should always continue the discipleship and restoration process. Discipleship isn't always fun and uplifting, in fact good discipleship has more to do with being corrected than it does with constantly studying the Bible. Take a beautiful gold ring for example, it must first be taken out of the dark depths of the ground where it is found, washed clean, put through the refiner's fire, having all the impurities removed, and then hammered, stretched, bent into shape and finally polished to a beautiful gold shine. The gold is taken from a small dirty nugget into a beautiful polished round shape. If it could feel, everything leading up to it's finish is unpleasant and painful, but then once it's complete, it is admired and appreciated which makes it all worth it.

Several years ago, I was arriving home from work and as I drove up to my apartment there was a small group of children playing near the stairs where I would be going up. I did not recognize any of these children.

I got out of my car and began to walk toward the stairs and one little girl, maybe 3 or 4 years old suddenly threw her arms around my legs and began to scream and stomp her feet. The natural response, of course, was to reach down and pull myself away, however, as I started to do so, I clearly heard a voice, a voice from my right, but there was only my car at my right, a voice that "loudly" command me to, "Put your arms in the air". I was stunned but did as commanded and there I stood in the parking lot with my hands in the air and this little girl wrapped around me, stomping her feet and screaming.

Then I heard another voice and another one of the girls said, "Come on (whatever her name was) let's go". And I looked over toward another section of the apartments and there was a woman standing on one of the balconies with a camera. I can only conclude that she was attempting to get a picture of me with my hands on her child and construe it into something it was not.

Thank you, Adonai for Your protection and for that very loud (to me) voice that told me to put my hands in the air.

I recall this one time I opened up the bible and each successive verse replied to what the guy was saying. He was drunk, so it scared him away and avoided conflict.

Word of knowledge tends to change based on setting, (such as bible passages coming back to remembrance, and speaking against the church) so If I don't like the word of knowledge I'm getting, it's probably good to move on.

At the time and afterwards, I think this angry brother was a sociopath or at least a narcissist. I cried out to God to be delivered and I was released from the cussing, blaspheming and belittlement. I was injured internally and being led towards blaspheming the Holy Spirit. But by God I was free from further injury.
