Let me present the following scenario.
You are working in a nursing/care facility, and your first task is to get a resident washed, dressed, and ready for breakfast.
The resident suffers from Alzheimers Disease.
They are telling you that they do not need your assistance because they have already had a wash and are absolutely fine and do not need your help.
They are crying and refusing to eat their breakfast because they are upset because their Mum and Dad are not there with them. The resident is in their late nineties and their parents passed away many years ago.
How would you respond?
Without lying of course!

I would think that there is a procedure on how to accomplish these things ...

Here's another example from history. During WW2 when you are of the very few people who hid Jews from the Nazi's, keeping them from the extermination camps. If their police force asked you, "do you know the whereabouts of any Jews who are hiding?" What do you answer?

I take it that includes, not giving the best answer ( a form of deception). Like as in the case of Abraham and Sarah, when He went ahead and told Abimelek that, Sarah was his sister, yet he very well knew, it wasn't the best answer, to give.

I don't believe that Ephesians 4:25 leaves any "wiggle room", ie,
when the verse says, "You must stop telling lies," then that is the end of the conversation. God has spoken! Amen! and Amen!
