Has the Holy Spirit explicitly led you to keep the Sabbath?

and they came prior the conclusion of Acts 15...which was that Moses would still be heard every Sabbath...oh AS LONG AS 4 other things were respected...all 4 ALREADY expected of those not of Jacob since this ekklesia received the living oracles at Sinai...

You just keep on misquoting James in Acts 15 no matter how many times I post the actual verse. Stop twisting the scriptures to fit your theology. Be honest about it at least.

Paul even circumcised AFTER this...odd if Acts 15 indeed ABOLISHED circumcision...imagine if the gentiles WISHED to do so like so many men desire body modification for vanity sake...I mean American hospitals still do...but not for vanity sake...I think...or for salvation...

for which circumcision NEVER was...

but keeping one law means keeping them all right? glad the uncircumcised don't need to keep ANY...or?

you're like the kid who hates the rules of the very game he is playing...always insisting "UNFAIR!"...lol

wishing to change them by popular vote and then resenting those who remember the original ones...

You might want to consider the 9th commandment seeing how you keep all God’s commandments.

I would suggest this is what your doing by ignoring the context written in Acts 15:1-2. Let's be honest. Acts 15 is over circumcision as a requirement for salvation not weather God's 10 commandments are the standard for christian living and sin when broken. You make Paul contradict himself after Acts when he talks to the Corinthians when he says "Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God." 1 Corinthians 7:19.

Something to pray about dear friend.

You’ve completely miss my entire point regarding Acts 15. You’ve forgotten what my argument is all about. Acts 15 is the first ecumenical council meeting where the Holy Spirit revealed to the church the abolishment of one of God’s commandments.

No actually dear friend I haven't. Why do you think I have been trying to talk to you about the Mosiac "shadow laws" of things to come? Why do you think I asked do you make animal sacrifices every time you sin? Your mixing up the Mosiac "shadow laws" of the old covenant fulfilled in the new with God's eternal law that gives us the knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20: Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are trying to find support in the Bible where the Holy Spirit guided the change in Gods law, so therefore it sets the precedence on why the church had authority to change Gods day of worship from Sabbath to Sunday?

Misquoting?

“Therefore I judge the we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to Yah...but that we write to them to w, x, y, and z...”

It matters NOT what you put in there...hold their breath, brush their teeth, stand on one leg, shave their heads, push ups, whatever you want to put there for W, X, Y, and Z...but WHATEVER you do put there it does NOT change this:

“FOR Moses has...being read in the synagogues every Sabbath”

REMEMBER:

MATTHEW MARK LUKE AND JOHN had NOT being written yet or most of the NT...

So BECAUSE Moses is read every Sabbath the gentiles WANTING to hear more about One resurrected and for the forgiveness for ALL will do whatever you said W, X, Y, and Z to do so...

BECAUSE WANTING to hear about One resurrected and the forgiveness of ALL the Gentiles will ALSO HEAR the rest of Moses EVERY SABBATH...and WANT to not just hear BUT DO...

Becuase well...as James said...Moses is read every Sabbath...and those that LOVE HIM not only HEAR BUT DO and it is not burdensome...

IF you love Him...and while hearing Moses preached every Sabbath...because He did too...and Isaiah...

The 9th commandment according to which count?

Somehow throughout history there was one way to count and then there was another way to number them...funny how that happens...

Like slavery...various churches’ teachings and popular opinion and actual application and practice STILL have NOT resolved this issue...and it’s 2020 years on...

I mean all that tradition right? And yet...

I have read the Roman church claim Acts 15 as the apostles’ authority making church law and Jew’s their Purim as precedent for them to make up their own holy days...of course to change both Times and Law...

I'm surprised people are deceived by this. The Catholic church changed God's Holy day that He asked us to Remember and wrote with His own finger in stone. You would think at least this church should be more Christ-like but instead in the news constantly are things like this Catholic Church sexual abuse cases - Wikipedia or https://nypost.com/2020/10/21/pope-francis-calls-for-civil-union-laws-for-same-sex-couples/ I can't find this behavior remotely similar to Christ-like and pretty sure the Bible says its a sin. Can this really be the example of one of the largest Church in the world? The one who says they have the authority to change Gods laws led by the 'Holy Spirit' despite Jesus stating He gives us the Holy Spirit to keep His laws, not break them.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

all good points...Was easier when most were illiterate and unable to read the scripture themselves...

but yes the counter reformation has only succeeded flooding our culture with abused and corrupted grown up children...

and as the culture/society/economy collapses of course the church will save us...outside of which it claims there is none...

His of course come out of her that fallen one...halleluYah

Brother it’s already happened in Acts 15
Brother, the intention was not to take anything away, but to help the Gentiles grow in their faith as God would guide them in growth. Instead of imposing all the requirements on them from the beginning, they would allow them to grow in the law of Moses every Sabbath. They were allowed to grow slowly by listening to the law of Moses every Sabbath. This council at Jerusalem does not give license to stop growing and abandon the commandments of God.

It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath. (Acts 15:19-21 NIV)

indeed...these gentiles WANTED to hear more...and DO it...

and their acceptance was complete Deuteronomy 14:21 has 3 groups regarding strangled/suffocate/natural death meat

1) native are not to eat
2) alien given to eat
3) foreigner sold to eat

These gentiles were forbidden to eat this meat thus their NATIVE status granted...

Brother, thank you for confirming what I saw. The Jerusalem council is speaking of patience, patience to allow God to slowly grow the Gentiles and not push them more than they "can now bear". Misuse is the Jerusalem council to say that God changed his mind and now asks us less than the Jews when the opposite is true. Jesus asks us for more in the New Testament than in the past with the Old Testament. What the Jerusalem council said, Jesus said in the following passage. Give no more than one “can now bear”, allowing slow grow with the Spirit of truth, who will have more to say later, more than they “can now bear”.

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. (John 16:12-14 NIV)

Not really dear friend. You have already been provided the scriptures showing that there are many types of annual shadow sabbaths [plural] in the old covenant laws that can fall on any day of the week that are not God's 4th commandment of the 10 commandments.

The seventh day Sabbath of God's 4th commandment is not [plural] and the context of Colossians 2:16 is to the shadows in the feast days not God's 10 commandments.

Is there a reason for avoiding the questions in my previous post to you dear friend? They were only posted as a help to this discussion. If your not open to this discussion just say so. You do not have to answer those questions if you do not want to. They are only provided as a help.

Perhaps you can pray about it if you do not know the answers. If you do not know the answers to those questions then I pray that they may be a blessing for you as you seek God through his Word to find the answers. Your mixing up God's "shadow laws" of things to come with God's eternal law that gives us a knowledge of what sin is when broken *Romans 3:20; Romans 7:7.

Don’t you think it’s strange that Jesus specifically mentions every single commandment in the 10 commandments except the Sabbath? He says we must love God, we’re not to worship idols, we’re not to use God’s name in vain, we’re not to lie, steal, murder, commit adultery, we must love our neighbors but He never once says we must keep the Sabbath. He never once emphasized the Sabbath.

Well that is not true either but let me show why. JESUS said he made the Sabbath for mankind and he is Lord of it *Mark 2:27-28 and he taught us how to correctly keep the Sabbath *Matthew 12:1-12. Everyone of God's 10 commandments are repeated all through the new testament scriptures even God's 4th commandment. (Scripture support here linked). Go read the scriptures provided and you will see they disagree with you.

Im pointing out Acts 15 as evidence that the Holy Spirit did change one of God’s commandments.

Paul included the Sabbath days as shadow laws in Colossians 2.
Colossians 2 is referring to this:

The 7 High Sabbaths and the Harvest
God loves celebrations, that is why he has set holidays for people so that they may have joy in life and not just work. A week consists of 7 days. The Sabbath is the 7th day of the week. It begins on Friday night and ends on Saturday night. It reminds of creation, our creation (we may live!!!) and the rich arrangement of the earth with plants and animals. In addition to the weekly Sabbaths, God has also determined 7 annual Sabbaths (= feast days or high Sabbaths), which fall on different weekdays. On them special rest was ordered. If an annual Sabbath falls on a weekly Sabbath, then it is called "double Sabbath". The great feast Sabbath of Passover (the 15th Nisan) was such a double Sabbath in 2019 and fell on April 20, 2019 (see calendar 2019).

If you read Colossians you will see it is speaking about food, and festivals, and has nothing to do with God's Holy day the 4th commandment that He asked us to Remember. God's chosen day of rest from creation is not a shadow, which is why Jesus kept the Sabbath even in death and rose on the first day of the week and asked us to keep His commandments. And why Isaiah 66:23 says And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord.

So Colossians is clearly not speaking about the Sabbath, the 4th commandment.

God Bless
