Have you been slain speachless by His awe?
Yes, when I read Genesis 18.

Have you been slain speachless by His awe?
I mean being rendered speechless for hours having encountered the Holiness of the Father and seen the depth of your own sinful nature?
IWhat seems to be missing is the redemption of personal taste as if it was somehow sacrosanct.
Dare we ask Him to walk into the deep recesses of our lives - look at our personal preferences and bring weeping conviction when we prefer other than what brings Him joy.
We have no right to hold personal preferences against His Holy Standard if we are truely born again.
In this raging battle we need to reflect His light, His Holiness, His purity, His Love.

Pray for it - if you mean business - but be warned, your life will change.

But who says God only likes certain kinds of Christian music???
I mean I have had the Holy spirit minister to me using all kinds of music styles
Do you consider all music spiritually neutral?
I didn't know where else to stick this ... no more.
But it is an everyday occurrence, in its meaning.... That is not an everyday occurance!
My thoughts on Christian Metal is that music is like food.
Some people like spicy food, some do not - musical taste is like that.
In terms of it being extreme, is this measured by how it satisfies the body?
Is the extremeness measured in terms of how the artists brought heaven to earth in the hearts of the audience?
Is the extremeness measured in how people were all of a sudden caught up in a holy fever and just want to live more Godly lives?
Extreme music is extreme because it conveys the contents of the musician's soul - stuff that words cannot give justice.
I was examining the reason why it is extreme. The most extreme musicians in any genre know how to use their soul and pour it into the music. It is called extreme based on it's genres.
Fabulous harmonies. I have in some instances misgivings about the post-Wagner concept of "full orchestra" as the latest instruments have a more powerful and intense sound than earlier, thus we could manage with fewer of them; certainly in concertoes it is often the "solo" instrument that gets mainly showcased. I also particularly love sounds where a rhythm is picked out a little better - in Haydn by his witty silences; in Brahms by constant exchange between one rhythm and another (most orchestras haven't cottoned to him yet). Yes there is so much - and the Sibelius is one of the most beautiful. I've often liked rock music whether with a supposed "Christian theme" or not. But that's just me!@Amittai,
Perhaps I should share my favorite song with you and you can judge my tastes better that way.
