Matthew Chapter 4: 24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. 25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

  • The fame of Yeshua went throughout all Syria where people had share with everyone the good news that the messiah was here, healing people who are sick, and that were taken from divers diseases and torments. (Matthew 4:24)

  • When my mind thinks about torments, it thinks about psychological problems where the though process of the brain may cause torments from past traumas, and bad delusions of an alternate reality. (Matthew 4:24)

  • When my mind thinks about diverse diseases, it sees people who are sick outwardly rather than the inward workings of the brain. There many people who were possessed with many problems, and those who were considered lunatick, and those even who had palsy; and Yeshua the Lord, had healed them. (Matthew 4:24)

  • Jesus had been followed by the great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him: 2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

  • After seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain. When Jesus/Yeshua found a place to rest, his disciples came unto him.

  • Yeshua opened his mouth and taught them. He spoke Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

  • When He speaks about inheriting the earth, to me speaks about how out of all the corruption that the world is and how meek people will always be around to be blessing in peoples lives.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

  • There are people here on earth who do hunger and thirst for righteousness, we are filled by Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that just as it is written "Let him who boast, boast in the Lord"(1 Corinthians 1:30-31)

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

  • Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Carefully consider what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible on your part, live at peace with everyone. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written: "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord. (Romans 12:17-19)

8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

  • 14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. (Ephesians 2:14-18)

  • And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.(Philippians 4:7)
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. (Acts 16:16-34)

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

  • Jesus is telling his disciples that rejoice, in all of the things that are being spoken to you, for great is your reward in heaven. For so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Mentioning that the same thing the prophets of old time went through, so shall they whom is before him will too. ~ note (Acts 16:16-34)

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

  • As believers, in and through the Lord Yeshua/Jesus Christ we can become a light in the world while we are here on earth. God grafted in the ability for anyone to be able to accept the free gift of salvation offered, that is to love God, and to Love our neighbor as ourself. A person who believes will be someone you can be able to see God in, because of their love for everything that God has done for all of man kind. Jesus Christ light turned off for 3 days, after dying. There was a lot of confusion going on and in that time of darkness. (Matthew 5:13-14)

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

  • A believer doesn't hide the joy that is expressed in the Lord, but instead spreads encouragement and support to others. Jesus Christ being the light of the world, was shown in the expressions of his healing of many different people from all over, from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. (Matthew 5:15;Matthew 4:25)

  • What is the point in lighting a candle only to cover it up and let it go back out? (Matthew 5:15)

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  • A believer will be able to let the light of God and of the Lord shine in their life, it will be expressed by their love, and they will glorify God which is in heaven who desires and wills us to love one another and pray for one another. (Matthew 5:16)

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
  • Yeshua is expressing to his Disciples that he had not come to destroy the law of moses, or the sayings of the prophets of old. He says that he had not come to destroy those laws, but to fulfil them by living a sinless life. Which signifies that Yeshua will conquer over all of the laws that were written about fulfilling the contract of old, and allowing for a contract of new covenat. (Hebrews)
