(CLV) Lk 18:18
And a certain chief inquires of Him, saying, "Good Teacher, by doing what should I enjoy the allotment of life eonian?"

This seems like he's coming from a perspective that there a works involved.

(CLV) Lk 18:19
Now Jesus said to him, "Why are you terming Me good? Not one is good except One, God.

Now could have said a lot of things next. He could have said, "I'm going to die and be resurrected really soon. Just wait until then. Then call me Master; and believe in my name; and that's all there is to it." He didn't. Let's see what he said.

(CLV) Lk 18:20
With the precepts you are acquainted: You should not be committing adultery. You should not be murdering. You should not be stealing. You should not be testifying falsely. Be honoring your father and your mother."

He refers to the Torah.

(CLV) Lk 18:21
Yet he said, "These all I maintain from my youth."

Look at that, obedience from his youth.

(CLV) Lk 18:22
Now hearing this, Jesus said to him, "Still one thing you are lacking. All, whatever you have, sell, and distribute to the poor, and you will be having treasure in the heavens. And hither! Follow Me."

Notice that Yahshua didn't correct him; and Yahshua knows the truth. Instead he said he was lacking one thing. He wasn't going all in for Yahshua. This is the commitment of marriage. We leave the old life behind. Yahshua asked him to perform a work to enjoy eternal life.

We will have good eternal life if we lived here according to God's will, did everything he want from us, kept his law and commandments. But for sinners you already know where they will go. To the place where they will only sin and tempt the alive humans to sin. Far worse then the place righteous will go.

(CLV) Lk 10:25
And lo! a certain lawyer rose, putting Him on trial, and saying, "Teacher, by doing what should I enjoy the allotment of life eonian?"

"What must I be doing?"

Sounds like woks!

What was Yahshua's answer?

He's talking to a lawyer this time. There's no need to go into details. His answer is short and sweet.

(CLV) Lk 10:26
Now He said to him, "What is written in the law? How are you reading?"

The lawyer obviously already knew the two foremost laws.

(CLV) Lk 10:27
Now he, answering, said, "You shall be loving the Lord your God out of your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole strength, and with your whole comprehension, and `your associate as yourself.'"

Yahshua answered Keep the Torah and you will live.

(CLV) Lk 10:28
Now He said to him, "Correctly have you answered. This be doing and you shall be living."

Yahshua spoke of these two commandments at another time.

(CLV) MarK 12: 28-34
28 And, approaching, one of the scribes, hearing them discussing, having perceived that He answered them ideally, inquires of Him, "What is the foremost precept of all? 29 Jesus answered him that "The foremost precept of all is: Hear, Israel! the Lord our God is one Lord." 30 And, You shall be loving the Lord God out of your whole heart, and out of your whole soul, and out of your whole comprehension, and out of your whole strength. This is the foremost precept." 31 And the second is like it: 'You shall be loving your associate as yourself.' Now greater than these is no other precept." 32 And the scribe said to Him, "In truth, Teacher, Thou sayest ideally that He is One, and there is no other more than He." 33 And to be loving Him out of your whole heart, and out of the whole understanding, and out of the whole soul, and out of the whole strength, and to be loving the associate as yourself, is excessively more than all the ascent approaches and the sacrifices." 34 And Jesus, perceiving him, that he answered apprehendingly, said to him, "Not far are you from the kingdom of God.And no one dared to inquire of Him any longer."

Yahshua was quoting the Deuteronomy and Leviticus.
(CLV) DT 6:4
4 Hear, Israel! Yahweh is our Elohim; Yahweh the only One. 5 So you will love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your intensity. 6 These words which I am instructing you today will come to be in your heart.

(CLV) LV 19:18
18 You shall not avenge nor shall you be resentful against the sons of your people. You will love your associate as yourself:I am Yahweh.

Notice that these laws are not found in the Decalogue; so those who say that, "the only law we have to do is keep the Decalogue," are clearly in error. I could support this with further scripture; but let's not digress.

Here Yahshua says it again:

(CLV) Mt 22:37
Now He averred to him, "You shall be loving the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole comprehension.

(CLV) Mt 22:38
This is the great and foremost precept.

(CLV) Mt 22:39
Yet the second is like it: `You shall be loving your associate as yourself.'

(CLV) Mt 22:40
On these two precepts is hanging the whole law and the prophets."

Notice that this time he says that ALL of the law is hanging in these two laws. This includes the Decalogue, prohibition of being a drunkard, a homosexual, a prostitute, ALL of it.

Everyone is a sinner. To have eternal life in heaven when you die you need to have faith and believe on Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross to save you.

What he did on the cross? He died, this isn't something good. Yes he was murdered for our sins, but if we not imitate his life we will not be saved. If everybody is sinner then why he called sinners some of them:
Luke 6:33 And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.

Everyone is a sinner. To have eternal life in heaven when you die you need to have faith and believe on Jesus Christ and what he did on the cross to save you.

What does this abstract word faith, of Greek philosophy, mean from a Hebraic understanding? If we want to understand YHWH's message; we would do well to approach that understanding in the language, and from the culture, in which his word was given.

Greek is an ethereal abstract language. Hebrew is a concrete language. The concrete is what we can perceive with our five senses. Faith can mean many things in the imaginations of those who think in abstract terms.

The concrete Hebrew word, for the abstract abstract Greek word "faith," is emunah H530.

The first place where it appears in scripture is in Exodus.

(CLV) Ex 17:12
When the hands of Moses became heavy, they took a stone and placed it beneath him, and he sat on it. As for Aaron and Hur, they upheld i his hands, one on this side and one on that side. So it came to be that his hands were constant (H530) until the sunset.

It literally means firmness. Moses held his hands firm.

The root of the word emunah is aman (H539). Aman means firm.

It's used in Isaiah to describe something being nailed in place.

(CLV) Isa 22:23
I will fasten him like a peg in a sure place (H539), and he will become a throne of glory to his father's house.

So Paul is saying that before standing firm we were transgressing the Torah, thereby being under the curses.

Let's see what Paul says about standing firm in righteousness.

(CLV) Ro 10:6
Yet the righteousness of faith is saying thus: You may not be saying in your heart, Who will be ascending into heaven? that is, to be leading Christ down

What is righteousness?

Definition of righteous

1 : acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin
Definition of RIGHTEOUS

Paul is quoting the Torah. Paul taught exclusively from the TaNaK.

Let's take a look at what he is quoting in regards to defining the "righteousness of faith."

(CLV) Dt 30:11
For this instruction that I am enjoining on you today, it is neither too difficult for you, nor is it too far off.

(CLV) Dt 30:12
It is neither in the heavens for you to say: Who shall ascend to the heavens for us and take it for us and announce it to us that we may do it?

(CLV) Dt 30:13
Nor is it across the sea for you to say: Who shall cross across the sea for us and take it for us and announce it to us that we may do it?

(CLV) Dt 30:14
For the word is exceedingly near to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to do it.

(CLV) Dt 30:15
See! I have set before you today life and good, death and evil.

(CLV) Dt 30:16
If you should hearken to the instructions of Yahweh your Elohim that I am enjoining on you today, to love Yahweh your Elohim, to walk in His ways and to observe His instructions, His statutes and His ordinances, then you will live and multiply, and Yahweh your Elohim will bless you in the land where you are entering to tenant it.

Those who are firm in their obedience to Torah, are not under the curses for transgressing the Torah.

Manners are crucial to a meeting place woven in lovingkindess for those who are weary.

There is no need for extensive words to honor a guest.
A single gesture of the heart will suffice.

Hospitality.
Unfortunately theives attempt to find a way other than the Sheep Gate.
