I just believe that opening a door for satan to come in, video game or not, is a really bad idea.
I will never understand Christians.

Not really any MMOs that I can think of that are not offensive. It's why I stick to RPGs. At least they are somewhat better. Like Fallout for example has no magic.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18I will never understand Christians.

This is not surprising. Much of what we as Christians consider opposite to our faith, non-Christians think is foolish. As for magic in video games, all magic is abominable to God. That is stated many times in both the Old and New Testament. Although using magic virtually may seem innocent since it's not "real," role-playing someone who uses the forces of nature or calls on demonic powers for abilities displays an inner desire to be that being. Jesus made it very clear that even the thought of sin is sinful.
This has only recently been made clear to me by the Spirit since I've been a player of World of Warcraft since it started in 2004. I began to question during Legion. The emphasis on demonology really started bothering me. I stopped playing. But I recently started up again and it just hasn't felt right with me. I now know why.
In Matthew 5:27-28 during the Sermon on the Mount He said: "You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ 28But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. "
The intention or even the desire to commit sin is a sin.
This is why the Bible says that there is none righteous, no, not one.
If you read the words of Jesus in the 4 gospels you will see that, as the living embodiment of God in the flesh, He demands perfection. Holiness. This is impossible for man to achieve. None can truly obey all the commandments of God if even his thoughts betray him. That is why, God , Himself, became man. To be the perfect man to obey all the commandments and to be the sacrificial Lamb for all mankind.
To the nonbeliever this may seem savage. Killing a poor, helpless creature like a lamb to atone for sins seems barbaric. And it is. But the Bible says that the wages of sin is death. That is the price God set for man's forgiveness. Blood must be shed for sin to be forgiven. In the Jewish atonement ritual, the blood of the lamb was then sprinkled on the Ark of the Covenant by the High Priest. This was symbol of God no longer seeing the sin. But that only covered the sin for a while. The blood sacrifice ritual had to be performed every year.
The Bible tells us that man is a slave to sin. His very nature is sinful. In order for him to be set free, he must be bought back from that slavery, or redeemed.
But in order for man to be redeemed, God required a perfect sacrifice, a sinless human being. But there was no perfect human so God, Himself, entered this world as a human, lived like one of us and died so that we could obtain that forgiveness by believing and loving Him.
But that is not all that is required. Repentance, the turning away and rejection of sin must accompany that belief. And that requires repudiating all that does not glorify God.
But this is personal to each believer. We are not held to a list of dos and don'ts apart from the ten commandments we've all known about. Each believer has to learn from his own life and spiritual growth what is good for him or not good for him. But some things are very plain as they are clearly condemned in Scripture. One of these is engaging in occult practices..of any kind. Astrology, tarot, numerology, Ouija boards, etc. Or pretending to be a magic user fighting pixelized demons.
And I have engaged in all those practices at one time or another in my life so I am certainly not setting myself up as some paragon of virtue or preaching from a position of self-righteousness.
Make no mistake. That price of being a disciple of Christ Jesus is not cheap. It is not simply a matter of going to the altar at an evangelical service, saying a prayer and then walking away back to the same life. Without repentance, there is no conversion.
Christians are told to be lights in the darkness. We are set apart to be ambassadors of God in a world covered by darkness. In order to do that, we must live as righteous a life as is possible with the help and guidance of God's Holy Spirit.
That doesn't mean we are righteous and holy from anything that is our own doing. It's because the blood of Jesus that covers our sins from God's eyes that God grants us grace and righteousness.
What the "world" does not understand and can't understand is that being a disciple of Jesus Christ isn't a religion. It's a transformation. That transformation happens when you sincerely repent of your sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and accept His salvation. At that moment the Holy Spirit will transform you from within and begin the process of molding you into the person God wants you to be.
You are in this forum for a reason. I don't sense animosity from you. I think you're searching. Jesus said: "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me."
Christianity is not a spectator sport. You have to join the team to even understand the game. You will never understand Christians until you know the Lord and Master we serve. He's calling you. Will you answer?
Well, if you don't consider the "force" of star wars magic, there's Star Wars TOR. Theres also Star Trek online, but there is stuff like Telepathy in Star Trek.I personally don't believe I myself should be playing games that have magic in them, and i'm looking for some good JRPG-Style MMOs or Just Any fun MMORPG without magic.
Not trying to say you shouldn't play such games, only that I am looking for a fun game to play with my friend.

He doesn't deserve to have his title capitalized.
