Galatians 3:28-29 says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise. The Promise is that which God made to Abraham. He says to Abraham in Genesis 17:7-8 “...I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.” And we know that with God comes all His Blessings, that we may live long and prosperous lives.
Galatians 3:29 essentially says that those who are in Christ are entitled to the same Promise God made to Abraham and his offspring. Abraham et al are Jews. In that sense, is not everyone who is in Christ de-facto Jews? In context, one could say that Verse 29 is derived from Zechariah 8:22-23 which says “Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” Verse 29 is in a sense a fulfillment of Zechariah 8:22-23 through Lord Jesus.
The New Testament does not recognize those who are Jews just because they may give the impression of being Jews. The NT distinguishes between true Jews and others. Revelation 3:9 says, “Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and they will learn that I have loved you.” Romans 2:28 says, “...[N]o one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly. But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.”
In terms of ethnicity and stature, yes, there are different people who believe in God through Jesus. But God through Jesus makes no distinction between those who worship Him. We are all His people, but as Romans 10:12 says, “...[T]here is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him,” Inasmuch as those who aren’t Jews and who believe in God through Jesus are entitled to the same inheritance in the Promise God made to Abraham, they walk the same ground as the Jews the Promise was made to. Any stranger looking at them from outside, then, in terms of religiosity, would see no distinction between them and the true Jews of Abraham that the New Testament recognizes....those who are in Christ.
