True, but teenagers and folk in their twenties don't understand the risks. They just want to have fun with their friends.Yes, so many younger adults just aren't concerned about catching it and then spreading it, and too many have followed the example of not wearing a mask as set as example by the president.
While those younger adults won't die in a higher percentage like the older and sicker would, they will eventually tend to be spreading it more and more to some of the vulnerable, people with underlying conditions or people that are more susceptible to getting sicker such as due to blood type and other unknown factors, where 'healthy people' end up severely ill or dying at times.
So, the young adults spreading the virus by refusing to wear a mask are setting up the nation for tens of thousands of extra deaths (and that's assuming those more at risk will manage to keep up the effortful precautions they have to do, and avoid those very same young adults in their own families that get exposed...if the those that know they are vulnerable do really well on average at protecting themselves from the increasing prevalence of the virus everywhere, then it will only be tens of thousands of extra deaths, instead of far higher)
Oh, my. No. Just because deaths are flattening out doesn’t mean it’s not a dangerous disease. Many survivors are left with permanent lung damage, akin to that of a lifelong pack a day smoker. We can’t be so cavalier about getting it. Lockdowns and masks won’t do anything to prolong the virus’s ubiquity, in fact just the opposite. If we had actually done a full lockdown in the first place we wouldn’t be seeing this resurgence. The economic consequences of these half-hearted lockdowns have only shown us how unsustainable our current economic model is, and we need to reform it such that halting productivity for a month doesn’t destroy 100 million livelihoods.Until this week the previous high was on May 30th. One month out and deaths are still dropping. This suggests the virus is weakening and/or doctors have figured out how to treat it without patients dying. It's time for everyone to calm down and let this virus run its course. Endless lockdowns, masks and so on will only prolong the virus and the economic and social consequences will be devastating.
The notion that those of us who question the wisdom of self appointed experts and our government overlords should just go to an island and leave the rest of you alone is asinine. How about you leave me alone with your ridiculous, unscientific, fearful demands?
I have been staying with my momst in a retirement center because she is on hospice and it has been on lockdown. My mom hadn't been out of her apartment since March 1st til this last week and that was limited. Visitors are not allowed. I am a caretaker. Only my brother could come in to see her besides me because he has POA.I honestly don't have any issues with masks. The research is mixed as to their effectivness. I mean with cases climbing there are a lot of people wearing masks. Is it helping? I don't know. But if if wearing masks help then why not?
There are things that we are not doing though that I think would help more. Why not require businesses to be open at certain hours just for those that are vulnerable? Why not close up retirement homes for any visitors at all. We have social distancing.
A lot you guys seem to put a lot of stock in masks. Are they really helping? How do you know? If everyone wore a mask what would the rate of infection be as compaired to not wearing them? Is it really that big of difference?

So, You Never Really Were "Pro-Life," Were You?Old people are adults, they can decide for themselves what they want to do. If they want to stay home or go out, that's their business. They know the risks, they're not children.
The notion that to be pro-life means we cripple our economy over a virus with a 99.6% survival rate is asinine. All told, the number of people who end up dying from poverty and lack of medical care because governments shut down access will be higher than the total who died of Coronavirus. Mark my words.
The face is a window to the soul, it conveys all of our emotions. Covering up across the board denies us our humanity.

You weren't arfuing about crippling the economy, you were arguing against wearing a face mask. You are sooooo pro life that wearing a face mask is too much asked for saving lifes. The notion that to be pro-life means we cripple our economy over a virus with a 99.6% survival rate is asinine.
