Thought I would share it here as well as General Theology (soteriology)
My Brother in-law and I have been using Facebook messenger to read books together and we are on our sixth. The next read is JI Paker Evangelism and the sovereignty of God.
We looked at this passage when we read RC Sproul Choosen by God, and I am sure this will come up again during this next book.
Thought I would share Piper's look at the book with you on this passage in 2 Timothy.
Let's Look at the book- The roles in Evangelism
2Ti 2:24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

Act 26:14 And when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you, delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles—to whom I am sending you to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.
