Hello Jason,

You need the Gospel, my friend. The Gospel means good news or glad tidings. It sounds like you know the bad news, the coming wrath of God for our sins. The corruption we inherited due to the actions of our forefather Adam. Thanks be to God he wasn't done with us yet after original sin and death came into this world! God laid out a plan to redeem or to help atone for his fallen creation.

We have one God and none other, who is of the same substance and power. Yet in three different personalities, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are in perfect unity, and the Father desired to send His son in a Human nature into this world. To be a teach us of the things on high, to walk among us as sinless, fulfill all righteousness where Adam failed, to die in the place of all of us on a cross even though he did nothing wrong, and to be raised on the 3rd day. He revealed himself to many people before he ascended back into Heaven to take his place at the right hand of the Father.

Now we live in an age, where God is doing a work among us. Where if you believe by faith in the redeeming work of the Son of God. God will do a work within you, to give you the gift of faith and to give you the great exchange. To take your sins away and to give you the righteousness that only Jesus was able to achieve. So the Father doesn't see your sins anymore, but His son in you!

Take the time to sit down and learn the truth about our Lord Jesus. I even encourage you to read the 4 gospels and read it for yourself. Pray that the Lord will open your heart and mind to the this message of Good news. That he will make you a brother in Christ. You will know when you have received the gift of faith.

Read what Jesus says in the Gospels.

Dont worry my friend. Have faith. God is all loving and merciful.

May God bless you
eres what the guy said
Born again believers make it to heaven, as Jesus said you must be born again. The rest don't get there. There are several million born again believers on earth ( we are brothers and sisters in Christ). Many more who call themselves Christian but were never renewed, these people try to act as Christians, may even regularly go to church and do works but they never received the person of Christ by the Holy Spirit in their hearts ( these are the ones He says I never knew you too). And a few billion people who are totally lost, never considered Christ or accepted anything but or nothing at all for that matter, the lost.

i wanna born agai i dont wanna burn

Jesus said:

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath eternal life, and cometh not into judgment, but hath passed out of death into life.

It is a belief thing. You don't have to feel the Holy Spirit. When we believe in Jesus, after hearing what he says in the bible, if we believe in Him we are saved.

Rom 10:9 if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:

We only need to believe in Jesus to be saved. We just need to believe that He died for our sins.

Rom 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

The test for know if you have the Holy Spirit, is do you believe in Jesus to save you.

Hello, again Jason!

I am sorry to hear about the confusion going on in regard to your salvation. What that person told you was true. The church will always be a mixture of 'wheat and tares', those who received the gift of salvation/regenerated/born again, and those who don't know they haven't received it. This is an advance topic and here is an article to help explain it if needed: Tares Among the Wheat

From what I know, received your salvation(born again) is different for everyone. Some people have grown up with a relationship with God and they had a quiet conversion. Others like myself had a more dramatic conversion, where they know the day and hour it happened. Only God himself knows who is truly saved and who is not. Many cases when someone receives their salvation it is pretty evident. A buddy I used to work with, even in my meek and sheepish way of sharing the gospel with him. He struggled with serious anger issues. I was fortunate to see how his conversion took place, the Lord calmed the raging sea within his heart. If you met him today you would never know he had anger issues.

For me, I had no one to support or help me understand what I was going thru. My salvation is like night and day for me. For the first time in all my life, I had someone I could go to with my problems. God encouraged me in my darkest suicidal hours and help me to go from a scared boy to become the man I am today. It is different with everyone. It will be personal for you too.

If you are still uncertain about your salvation, keep praying and talking to God about it. Pray he helps you receive it, or reveal it to you if you have already gotten it.

I will pray for you Jason that you get the answers you are looking for. Hang in there!

Yes, you must be born again/saved, at which point the Holy Spirit takes up residence within you, for all eternity. Like Romans 8:9 says, '...if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.' The 'Spirit of Christ' is referring to the Holy Spirit so, the Holy Spirit resides in everyone who is saved, from the moment they become saved. How do you get saved?

Mankind’s Need of Salvation
What do I need to be saved from?
The wrath of God. (Romans 2:5-6)

Why do I need to be saved?
Your sin has cut you off from God. (Isaiah 59:2) To sin, means to “miss the mark.” The Bible declares, “all have sinned; all fall short of God’s standard.” (Romans 3:23)

What is God’s standard?
To perfectly keep His Law, the Ten Commandments, for your entire life. Keep all of the Law and God will let you enter Heaven. Have you ever:
  • used God’s name as a curse word? _____Yes _____No
  • stolen anything? _____ Yes _____No
  • told a lie? _____Yes _____No
This is just three of the ten. Answer yes to any? Yes. I have too (everyone else). You are guilty of breaking God’s Law (as we all are). You have sinned. The “wages (penalty) of sin is (physical & spiritual) death.” (Romans 6:23)

If you die, without being saved, you will be eternally separated from God and your loved ones. After death, life does go on, either in Heaven (with God) or in Hell (away from God), depending on your acceptance or rejection of God’s plan of salvation.

God’s Plan of Salvation
The Futility of Human Effort
The Bible teaches that no amount of human goodness, human works, human morality or religious activity can get anyone into Heaven. Being a good person, belonging to a religious family, being baptized, going to church, none of these can save anyone. Everyone still falls short of God’s perfect standard. (Isaiah 64:6, Romans 4:1-5, Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7)

The Only Way
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) me.” (John 14:6)

What must I do to be saved?
1) Realize that you’re are a sinner. (Romans 3:23, 5:12; 1 John 1:10)

2) Change your mind about Jesus (repent).Jesus said:
  • “…unless you repent (have a change of mind that results in a change of action), you will all perish and be lost eternally. (Luke 13:5)
  • …now God charges all people everywhere to repent. (Acts 17:30)
3) Believe the Gospel, that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead.
  • We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in the same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His blood, sacrificing His Life for us. (Romans 3:22, 25)
  • For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

4) Go to God in prayer, confessing Jesus as Lord and your need for forgiveness of your sins.
Give your life to Jesus, making Him the Lord of your life.
  • For it is believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:10)
  • For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.(Romans 10:13)

Then you've got to trust Jesus to do His part, to save you, just like He said He will. <~~~Without this part, I spent years doubting my salvation, praying (over & over/again & again) for God to save me, never knowing, for sure, if I was. Ever since I started trusting Jesus to do what He said He will do, I know I'm saved and have never had any doubts about it since then.

As we read Scripture prayerfully, the Person and work of Christ makes all the difference in the way we regard other Christians, don't they? :)
