If God stripped someone of their anointing & presence, is that person still saved?
I don't believe God is going to "strip" someone of their anointing. All Christians are anointed; that is indwelt by the Holy Spirit of God. God won't remove Himself from a Christian because there is no sin He is holding against us that would cause Him to remove Himself from us. Therefore, we cannot lose our salvation. "Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)." Grace and Peace

There is not a once saved always saved, based on certain circumstances like blasphemy the Holy Spirit or forsaking God.

Operating from His Spirit, & it seems that happened to me & it's pretty scary

Do you mean you've lost certain spiritual gifts such as speaking in tongues? Or you just don't feel the presence of Holy Spirit anymore?

Seems about everything.

I've heard a couple of testimonies by Christian singers about losing their voice until they repented of their pride. But that was a temporary discipline from God. It didn't mean they lost their salvation.

If you haven't rejected God, I think you can be confident that He will not abandon His own.

that's the thing though, I don't know if I did reject Him and I've been seeking repentance ever since

If you are seeking repentance, you are already walking on your way back to the Father. Just like the story of the prodigal son, He is eager to welcome you back.

If God stripped someone of their anointing & presence, is that person still saved?

When God saves you, he doesn't make a mistake. You are a work of his hand from beginning to end. We have various seasons as we go thru that allow God work on us in different ways. Some cases there is something he wants to remain doing, other times he might graduate us to a different role in his Kingdom. Ultimately it is His kingdom, he will equip you to be a part of it one way, shape, and form. It could being a godly parent to raise your kids, it could be showing integrity at work, it could be more traditional roles of pastor or teacher, or it could be cutting the grass and taking out the trash.

There are times where you can devote yourself to a church, then there are seasons where you have to withdraw to take care of family matters. There is nothing wrong with investigating gifts and volunteer where you can. Just don't to try figure it out on your own. I used to analyze for hours on end to figure out what my gifting was or to find where my place was. When I let go and just let God be God, my gifting and place would reveal itself naturally.

I am secure in my salvation as I stand in awe (fear) and reverence (trembling) as the Lord lives His life in and through me (working out my salvation). Prayers for your successful adventure trying to maintain or obtain your salvation.

That's pretty broad.

Compared to when you believe you had the anointing, are you sinning more, or sinning less, or is it about the same?

It seemed to have happened from recommitting a sin & from there it seemed like the glory cloud left as well as His anointing & presence. Literally felt like life itself was sucked out of me. It's an awful experience.

Hello, KPhillips.

I want you to know that I know what you are going through - had similar experience. It's awful, terrifying, frightening and no one who has not experienced it understands. Can you tell me how I can direct message you? I am new to this site and don't know how.

I would feel most comfortable with just talking through this thread without sharing direct contact information
Thank you for reaching out!

If God stripped someone of their anointing & presence, is that person still saved?

This isn't a question that makes sense to most Christians. God doesn't "strip" His "anointing and presence", that's not a thing God does.

As baptized Christians we have been sealed and anointed with the Holy Spirit. That can't be undone. Baptized is baptized, one can't undo a baptism.

One can walk away from Christianity, deny Jesus, become apostate; but even then that can't undo what God has already done. If they walk away, but later, they never stopped being baptized.

A more important question would be why do you think this is a thing that can happen?
