At the G7 he repeatedly insulted his predecessor by saying he was ‘outsmarted’ by Putin over Crimea.

Setting aside the stupidity of the remark, can we not stop with the idea that the office of the President should be respected regardless of its occupant please? Previous presidents never insulted their predecessors publicly, yet now we have the current president insulting former leaders on the international stage.

...and previous presidents were not subject to the barrage of hate and insults that this one has endured, nor have retired presidents been involved in berating the incumbent or being part of the campaign to defeat him. Not until now.

I don't consider being honest about one's assessment of the competence of another's actions to be an insult. If Trump said Obama was a racist or a low life or an idiot or called him some other unsavory name, which may well have happened, that would be an insult. Saying he got outsmarted on something is just an opinion not an insult. Mind, I bet Trump has insulted just about everyone that he believes disagrees with him or doesn't fall in line with whatever Trump thinks they should fall in line with but the example you gave doesn't rise to the level of insult.

Obama was subjected to worse and was also deliberately obstructed for no other reason than racism . This “harassment “ by former presidents is due completely to his ignorant ,racist, sexist and boorish behavior
If you have no problem disrespecting the office of the President why do you expect Trump to act differently?
Trump himself is disrespectful of the office of the president by behaving the way he does, Like a brainless vicious street thug. You know it’s gotta be bad when you realize that late mobster John Gotti had more class than the current president does

Remember when conservatives were mad that the Dixie Chicks went to London and criticized W, saying it was bad form to levy those sort of criticisms in a foreign country?

I think Trump is the only one with the guts to speak his mind... even to his own hurt. He does not care what the Dems or the Repubs think. He does not care what the media thinks or says. He does not care what you say.
But I think most Americans respect what he is saying, and kind of get a kick of how he says it. He is saying what a lot of people think. Not a repub myself... but I did want Carson only because I thought he best reflected my views. But Trump will have to do... especially considering the alternative...
So lets get those last 2 or 3 conservative Supreme Courts Justices appointed and be done with it! That, I think is what this is actually all about.

Alas, I think you are right. Let's get those conservative justices appointed and we can turn America into the isolationist theocratic backwater that Trump supporters want.

Obama was treated the least harshly of any President in the history of the country by the media and the political class. This was mostly from fear of the tactic you are using now i.e. accusing anyone that disagrees with the policies put forward of doing so because they are racist and not because they disagree on principle with what he wanted to do. People are most often motivated to oppose policies because they disagree with the policy not because they have a racial bias against the person proposing the policy. As most of the same people that opposed Obama's policies had also opposed those kinds of policies when they were proposed by people of different racial background than Obama, I assume they truly opposed the policy and were not opposing because they disliked dark skin on a person.

So, that is what you look for in a leader? Smooth and slippery? Well, you just had eight years of it. Thankfully we survived it.

No. Intelligent and well spoken. Compassionate and informed of world events and basic facts about reality.

Well I do not think you know many Trump supporters else you would not say this.
Trump supporters just expect their President and Congress to represent America and Americans first. I seriously doubt anyone wants a "theocratic" government or nation. I have never heard anyone say that. So I cannot take that seriously.

You must not have heard those Christians who say that we must support more and more government welfare programs because Jesus told us to feed the poor.

Of course not. But this is the state of the attacks now--nothing has to have even the remotest connection to reality, but just pack a punch. That's why they can say that the president isn't a Christian but, at the same time, claim with a straight face that he wants to make the country into a "theocracy." o_O

Trump supporters just expect their President and Congress to represent America and Americans first.
And have been aggressively promoting the idea that Liberals are not really Americans, so it is not all Americans that Trump supporters expect to be put first.
I seriously doubt anyone wants a "theocratic" government or nation. I have never heard anyone say that. So I cannot take that seriously.
Overturning Roe v. Wade and Obergefell v. Hodges are strictly religious initiatives. Further, there is no doubt that many Trump supporters believe that America is a Christian nation that should be run by Christian principles and will use conservative court rulings to that end.
