Maybe moving from monarchy to mob rule (democracy) was the worst idea, where a monarch is a owner, that wants to hand it children something acceptable, where presidents in a democracy is a caretaker, like a renter, and things continue to decline culturally & morally , despite much entertainment, and living to our 80's.

I’ve contemplated the same myself. Our downward spiral is never-ending. Every rung brings a deeper baseness to the fore. Respectability and decorum are passing fancies.

Trump won by 77,000 votes in critical places (while losing the popular vote by 3 million). Since then his performance should guarantee defeat in 2020, but the Republican Senate seems so eager to accept hacking and interference from Russia, practically setting up a welcome mat saying "hack us," that it is scary. The Supreme Court, in its Citizen United decision, has set up a welcome mat for big business to "buy" elections.
I suppose I will be blessed, because our state is in worse shape than most. Trump won by 70%, so we won't be deluged with hateful, untruthful commercials about whomever his opponent will be. The rest of you will be deluged with poison for months.
Everyone needs to adopt my rule of thumb: In an election, whoever spends the most money is the one who is in big money's pocket. Run, run away.

My prediction: Trump wins 2020 but accomplishes little due to judicial usurpation and congressional leadership obstructing him. the Dems sweep everything in 2024 after the GOP attempts to return to its swampy ways and nominate a Busb/Romney/McCain type who gets crushed in the general...then, all sorts of things will be advanced... Court packing, gun confiscation, criminalization of Christianity... And the wheels will really come off the wagon.

I have followed U.S. Presidential Elections longer than most of you here have been alive. As of now, I do not expect the President to carry MI or PA and doubt that he will carry WI. Yes, he could possibly win again, but such seems quite unlikely.
