So I made a list of the things I desire in a mate, and I put down that she vapes or doesn't vape, smokes or doesn't smoke. I vape every day, e cigs and I smoke occasionally. I'm not going to put, "doesn't smoke" when I do it myself. Is it wrong or right for God to answer my request to grant me someone who does smoke, Or would God not care? I'm 22, I can't quit. I've been vaping for 3 years. It's confusing. Thanks.
Well first, I don't actually believe that G-d will "bring you a mate". I don't actually believe in that line of thinking.
If you want a mate that smokes or vapes, then you need to search for such a person. I will say that finding a Christian woman that does either of those, will generally be difficult.
Generally speaking, it isn't common. The last time I met a Christian girl that smoked, was all the way back in 2003 I believe. I was working at an autoparts store, and a chick with tattoos all over, and neon pink hair, sucking on a cigarette, walked over to me on her first day on the job.
She walks over, and says that our co-workers told her I was a Christian, and we should get together.
Now why my co-workers randomly thought to set me up with some girl I never met before, I don't know, but I politely declined, and moved to the opposite side of the store (I'm allergic to smoke).
Assuming that this girl was in fact a Christian, that was the one and only Christian smoker I have ever met.
I think you may still find a Christian girl who smokes, but it will not be an easy search.
That said, you posted the statement "I can't quit."
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
Galations 5:1
There are several passages that suggest that G-d has given us the power to overcome things that enslave us.
We are not 'trapped' into our habits in this world, like the pagans are. G-d gives us the power to break free from those things.
So when you say "I can't quit", then are you saying that G-d was lying when he told you in the Bible that he would grant you the power to break free from all things that enslave you?
And if G-d was not lying....
Then that leaves one of two likely possibilities.
One: You do not have faith.
Two: You don't really want to quit.
Because the power of G-d is available for all in his family. So you either really don't want to quit badly enough, or you simply don't have faith that what G-d said is what he really meant.
Now it's ok if you don't really want to quit. But just say you don't want to quit.
Otherwise, you need to work on having more faith in G-d.
