Hi everyone

I’ve been a faithful giver for some years (tithe, sponsorship, random giving) but things are different now. My wife and I need our own place and we can’t really afford one. I think if I quit giving we may be able to get our own place but even then I’m not so sure. Please pray for us!!! Please let me know if I can pray for you. Have a nice evening.

Hello, I am so sorry that you are going through this struggle right now. Let’s consider what the Bible says about giving in relation to your situation. If you are considering not giving a tithe, sponsorship, or random giving, then I think there may be a bit of a problem. You see, I have personal experience in this area. I turned my back on the Lord for fourteen years (from age 15 to 29). Needless to say, I never tithed, and I worked seven days per week until I was 29 years old. Until then, the Lord never blessed me. I made a lot of money but was always in debt. Upon returning to the Lord, I immediately started keeping the Sabbath and tithing. At that time, I was over $100,000 in debt. Fourteen years later and I was completely out of debt!

Malachi 3:8-10 reads, “Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, in what way have we robbed You? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed Me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and, “try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

As Malachi tells us, I would never end tithing. You can stop other giving, but the tithing to your local church is a must. Just like taking rest one day per week. I wish you the best. Please know that I will be praying for you.
