Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life." Mark 10:29-30 NKJV [also Matthew 19:29, Luke 18:29-30]

Thank you, everyone, for stepping in with words of support and encouragement. This storm may take a while to pass through.

He will supply our needs. But He didn't say anything about wants, did He? I'll take this to mean, if He doesn't supply it, we don't need it.

Hubby has been inundated lately with Philippians 4:6-7. He entirely believes this is God speaking to him through others.

This is a strong bible verse of promise, which I think is better than the Facebook message you got above there. I must admit I also got Job in mind, yet when it comes to what we define as good, it is differently seen through God's eyes than through our eyes, which are naturally influenced by the world's view of good.

God is preparing us for what is coming after this life, He is preparing us for eternity. He may take away some things or a lot from us which we may think of as good in our eyes, yet, since God sees every detail in our lives, He knows what is bad for us as well as what is good for us.

Jesus Christ will be glorified in our sufferings and trials.

It is rather late here now, so I won't be looking after any bible verses right now, even though I think there are some to be found about this.

There is always hope found in our Lord Jesus. Difficulties are a way of growth for you, as well as forming your likeness more and more into Jesus Christ! Sufferings and trials have easier for pulling you more towards Jesus, than during times when life seems easy for you.

John 15:1-4 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.”

We have to see the bigger picture and not lose heart when we feel we have been emptied out. There is always an advantage to where we are. If we are down...we can only look up. When God is looking for more of us to be in Him...He takes things away that distract us from a closer walk with Him.

Peace to you

Daughter came up with Jeremiah 29:11.

Husband pointed to Job 42:10-12.

I looked up Joel 2:25.

The thing is, we have to consider context. Jeremiah says God wants good things for us. (Define "good," as Hammster points out.) Job *did* have everything he lost restored, twice over, but is that a promise that God will do the same for every believer, every time? And who was He talking to in Joel?

'God is not outdone in generosity,' LovebirdsFlying. I don't know whether it is from scripture or just tradition.

In any case, all trials lead to replacement of the good or the bad by the better still. So, yes, You cannot lose, nor can you fail to gain. And its never by half measures with God.

And that's exactly what happened in this case.

I'm free to share what happened now.

After 12 years with the one employer, and 34 years in the same line of work, hubby was forced out of his job. He didn't deserve it. Almost right away he interviewed with another company in the same line of work, but to my utter amazement, they did not hire him. I was absolutely stunned! Somebody with that much experience? How could they pass him up?

Well, that's because God says hubby is done with that line of work. He's got something else for him now. And he likes it better than what he had. Even things that looked like disadvantages are turning out to be advantages.

Thank you for keeping us posted with such good news, LovebirdsFlying. Nice too, to see our prayers answered so promptly, too.

I'm at a low point in my life right now. This came across my Facebook page, and of course I'm grateful for that. I do believe God will take care of me.

But as lovely as this sentiment is, can anyone corroborate it with Scripture?

Thank you.View attachment 254640

Isaiah 61:1–7 (NKJV)

The Good News of Salvation

61 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,

Because the Lord has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

3 To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins,

They shall raise up the former desolations,

And they shall repair the ruined cities,

The desolations of many generations.

5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks,

And the sons of the foreigner

Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord,

They shall call you the servants of our God.

You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles,

And in their glory you shall boast.

7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor,

And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion.

Therefore in their land they shall possess double;

Everlasting joy shall be theirs.

At a low point...send me a message....talk to a sister in Christ...25 years in fulltime ministry and 42 years with Jesus.

Feel-good message is kind of what I was thinking too.

I know there are all kinds of Scriptures that say, in effect, "God's got this."

But are there any specifically that promise to replace what was lost with something even greater?
Not exactly.

Scripture often points to our rewards in Heaven being way greater and more awesome than we could ever imagine. Especially compared to and in light of what we have to suffer for a little while down here.

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)

Job did get back, materially, far more than he lost. But that is not the norm, nor should we expect it.
