I'll sign out of this thread tonight but I'll leave a couple verses for some of you guys on here.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Rom. 3:22 "even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction."

Rom. 3:24 "being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;"

Rom. 4:5 "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"

And they key to these passages is understanding "believe", which MUST be the kind of belief that Abraham had. Any other faith and it is dead, completely worthless. True belief in Christ, as God in the Flesh, results in Jesus sending His Holy Spirit to those who truly believe, those that are willing to die just for the name, Almighty name of Jesus. If we aren't willing to obey, we are enemies of God.

One point not raised is that our righteousness is as filthy rags.

Our best is light years away from His Holiness.

Each instant we are short of His standard.

In this we are lost.

Forget about the commandments, the rich ruler had kept them all and was not accepted by Jesus.

If salvation depended on repenting of every sin we would need an eternity to cover them all...

Only a miracle of Grace can save us.

Yes.. a miracle of Grace Has saved us.

Only Jesus blood could do this...

Every sin past present and future in the believers life is covered by His blood.

The cross is a timeless event - it is occurring now for you and me.

Without this miracle of Grace we are lost.

But in Him we are saved.

I love you Jesus

It is finished.

I'm sorry if I am coming off as rude and impatient with you guys tonight. Some of you may have seen my other post and know what's going on with me, I don't mean to be disrespectful I am just going through a lot right now.
Look, if you’re going through a lot then maybe this isn’t the best time to debate what must be done to have or maintain salvation. I do hope things get better for you but salvation is serious. I suggest on your free time you look up accounts of people who have passed away and experienced Hell in near death experiences. One link I recommend is: Baptize by Blazing Fire Book 1, by Yong-Doo Kim

Not here, no. This place is brutal. In fact, I've concluded that most are wolves in sheep's clothing and they don't realize it....that's how a hardened heart thinks and works. Scary. (Not making judgements, not sure what's being said between the two of ya....please don't beat meh now!)

Ha ha! I found this place because I had questions and wanted Christian interaction...non worldly online. Cool, I thought. It’s Christian so it will all be friendly...yet hear I am getting uppity

I have doubts about these. I read that near death the brain releases an intense halluucigen 50 times stronger than lsd. Also I think demons may do this to distort. Huh maybe another topic?

He was responding in a thread I started, I disagreed with something he said, and he said ‘don’t start with me.’
So...what is the problem?

Maybe he's just having a bad day - who knows. The wise thing to do would be to just move along.

are going to hell by not following certain verses in the bible? I have seen more than twice here, people say that eternal damnation is someone's lot if...

And that is despite that person being born again.

Once you accept Christ into your heart and life, you are saved. God does not take that back. All of Romans practically is God backing up that promise.

I'm gobsmacked by the Christians here who think if you don't follow the entire Bible to the letter God will revoke that promise and send you to hell.

Who here believes that?
let's call this what it is, OSAS

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
John 14:21-24
NOTICE
The above scripture, commandments is plural. We are told to keep "them" and God and Christ will commune with us.
Who here, absent His written word, can know His commandments?
No one.
Who here has the authority to decide which commandments God is referring to?
No one.
Who here has the authority to ignore any one commandment or saying?
No one.
We do not live by the letter of the law, that was the old law. We NOW live under the Law of Liberty. We can't live perfectly but we can obey Him and keep His commandments. Which is exactly what He asks us to do.
In Him

Do you believe Jesus is god?
this topic is in a Christian only part of CF and all participates must subscribe to the SoF (aka Nicene Creed) of CF. So my belief if Jesus is God or not should be implicit by my participation.

This is also in the Christian Advice part of CF which seems oddly placed given the nature of the OP. But even so, we should probably take pause right now and determine if what we are going to say incites debate, which is not permitted here, or if it can fit in an advice context as per the rules of this part of the forum.

However it sounds like you want to say something, so if you have something to say, just say it, don't ask questions your already know the answer to.

Who here believes that?

In the 19th century Americans started moving west and three institutions went with them. There was vaudeville, traveling entertainment. There was lyceum, traveling education and culture. And there was the itinerant preacher, offering a new style of preaching called "hell fire and brim stone". It was very entertaining, only loosely based on scripture, and pastors didn't even try to compete. Instead they switched to preaching public morality and philosophy. Eventually an entire generation grew up not knowing the first thing about the religion they claimed to believe. That is why most Christian churches don't teach doctrines, and most members don't know what they are supposed to believe.

2 Timothy 4:
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
