The connection is the brouhaha over Warren's NA ancestry vs. the lack of a brouhaha over Keven McCarthy's brother-in-law's NA ancestry.

The story was reported in The Hill. For those not familiar with The Hill, it's a Washington D.C. paper that reports on Congress.

Well, they missed the boat on this one. One is actually a politician. One just happens to have a sister who is married to once

How many degrees of separation should we allow?

Do you have any comments about the content of the OP and it's relationship to the treatment of Elizabeth Warren or not?

It would be hard to find any evidence that it pays as much as being white.

So what is the benefit of being white?

The simple benefit of having your culture represented as the majority culture in media..?

What else?

We just saw a recent famous incident where someone was accused of a crime for smiling while white.

What you have just posted are a series of wikipedia articles that focus on practices which are no longer particularly relevant for the reasons that you would say they are (Redlining) or which are just a collection of exaggerated talking points ("Walking while black").

It is true that African-Americans are approached more by police and are arrested more, pulled over more, etc. Some say this is discrimination but it really just goes back to the massively elevated crime rate of African-American people thus predominantly black neighborhoods are targeted for an increased police presence and, sure, perhaps police are a bit more likely to be more thorough with a group of African-Americans.

But please, elaborate on these, if you will.

Oh brother, the Sandmann talking point is so ironic and tiresome at this point.

That wasn’t what the OP was about.

But, I think it was silly to go after Warren since it seemed like an issue in her past, and her explanation seemed reasonable.

And I think it’s petty for the left to engage in whataboutism, especially against a private citizen.

I think no one really cares about someone lack of Native American heritage, Until Trump brings it up. Then it's time to harrass people, that Trump like to start trouble with.

As a Native American activist with nearly three decades of experience, I can tell you that I've never seen such a ruckus from a group of conservatives over Native American blood quantum status or any native related political or social justice issue for that matter. The vast majority of support that I have been given and have seen in tribal related issues has been from liberals. Based on my experience, any conservative who shows an interest in tribal issues or in any other social justice issue is the exception and not the rule. But again, I'm basing my opinion on my own personal experiences and what I have observed over the 25+ years of being involved in political and social justice activism myself.
