Not sure if this is the right part of the forums to post this in but this question has been on my mind for a bit. Would an eternal life in Heaven be boring? I feel like if you're living eternally you're bound to get bored of everything. But would you always have a positive mindset up there and never get bored for all of eternity?

I don't think it will ever get boring. "Boring" is a state of mind we can have here, because we are the dumbest creatures; the world is full of wonders - yet we get bored. It's one of our imperfections. If we're standing in the midst of perfect love and power, and we are changed, all our sins and troubles taken away, there's nothing boring about that. Only our limited and boring minds can even entertain such thoughts!

Playing all day every day, games you could never imagine like children, that's not boring, God did not create us to be boring.

Have you ever played the imagination game when you was a kid? pretending to be someone else or someone adventures?

It will be glory every day and very exciting, God created the earth, nothing boring about that, just think how much beautiful and fun Heaven will be.

I am in agreement with what people has shared thus far. I had similar thoughts that you expressed in your question: If we live for eternity, then won't we eventually get bored or lose stuff to do? I think it is a fair question, but one that should leave you closer with God by thinking about all the wonders of His creation that He has given us today. If we stop and meditate on just that thought, then we will find just how much there is to be thankful for, and just how amazing God can create.
Imagine if God made a second Earth, that is completely different from this one, that He asked us to populate and explore?
Food For Thought.

Dear new person with a christian moral dilemma,

"Time" is the decay of this creation as it groans in birth pains expecting the new creation. There is no "Time" when you are a Spirit so everything there is described as "never ending" or "eternal." So there is no worry about boredom or "clock watching."

Our visions of eternal life is usually based on the sort of relationship we have with the Lord today on earth.

If that spiritual relationship is largely based around weekly religious activity, then its no surprise that heaven sounds boring.

If on the other hand, your experience of God in this world is exciting and like a roller coaster ride, then your vision of heaven will be incredible.

Ever since I left the institutional church, and sought the Lord for who he is, instead of dead religion, my experience of God has been a never ending thrill ride as He leads me day to day.

I am looking forward to the adventure of knowing him face to face.
I know eternal life will never be boring.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9
So how can it get boring?

Doubt it ... living with God who knows everything about the universe, plus He can create anything .... bored .... no ... God is not going to have things boring ;o) Says our minds can not even imagine. I'm looking forward to it!

1 Corinthians 2:9

9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him."

Amen!

How could we possibly get bored with abundant health, energy and resources? Imagine how much creativity we'll have. And just think what we can do with technology when we're not using it for war or to control people or resources! Not to mention the joy we'll constantly feel from being in God's presence.

Or it might be our job to keep that from happening.

It's a really big universe out there. Infinitely big, and getting bigger every moment.

I suspect that any attempts to preserve the universe, as in the heavens or the earth, will be futile.

Rev21v1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.

I didn't think that needed to be said.

I would not think, either, that the new heaven and earth would be less astounding than the current ones.

Would an eternal life in Heaven be boring?
No. It has all the best moments and none of the bad moments or boring moments. It is comparable to your current life with all the boring or uninteresting or painful moments removed, leaving only the happy and joyful life to experience.

This is a good point. Children can entertain themselves for hours with wonder and just sheer existing. I think we lose that as the world jades us, we corrupt ourselves, others damage us, and life crawls on. I like to think that returns when we are with our Lord, all our happiness restored and our injuries healed.
