  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Dave,

Mark 4 has two parables to consider: Parable of the Sower
and the Parable of the Growing Seed. In
John 10 we have Jesus discourse on The Good Shepherd.

John 10:10
The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy <blank>.
What is the enemy trying to steal, kill and destroy?

Answer: The word of God before it produces fruit in our lives. By eliminating the word from entering our heart and mind, Satan can keep us from hearing God’s voice. The parable of the Good Shepherd is about hearing the Good Shepherd voice.

When you compare these three scripture passages everything lines up perfectly.
Bird steals seed.
Sun kills blade.
Thorns destroy kernel head of the ear.

But Jesus came that we may have :
Life which is the seed on the good soil
Life more abundantly : 30, 60 and 100 fold return.

I attached a photo of a spreadsheet that gives more detail.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I love studying God’s word

Jim

Reply for the details. I love to share biblical insights.

Welcome! It's so wonderful to read through a gospel, and I love to do one or more every year, and the best days are when a passage (and sometimes it's been even just 1 or 2 verses) are so powerful that they make me completely full, so that I have to stop and dwell with what He said, and let His words remain in my mind, and I've found that as we grow and age, there is more and more that we learn, as we are ready. I was so surprised to learn new things not only the 4th time I read through John, but the 5th, again, and again in the 6th. And now I get it -- His word is living.
