Just a reminder ...

Remember the first Irish Catholic appointed to the Supreme Court? William Brennan became a fanatical advocate of abortion. There is no evidence that he thought about the question, he just assumed that abortion is good. Justice Brennan had nothing but contempt for the pro-life marchers who went to Washington every year, for instance.

The first Irish Catholic Justice, William Brennan, became Justice Abortomanic.

I wish I had a different message to deliver.

"In 1957, President Eisenhower thought he was increasing the conservative forces on the bench and also adding a Roman Catholic point of view to Supreme Court decisions by appointing the moderate conservative William Brennan to the Court. ... From moderate conservative, he moved rapidly to the left to the point where he could move no further. As the Catholic voice on the court, his voting record rarely showed any hint of Catholic morality entering into his decisions."

Judge Kavanaugh has a long paper trail and every opinion has been scrutinized. Brennan was a staunch liberal, Kavanaugh isn't. Judge Kavanaugh is considered a devout Catholic who works with Catholic charities and went to Catholic high school. Brennan was Catholic in name only.

But time will tell.

No real Kavanagh would put a u in the name...:(

Some of the reasons were due to discrimination in other countries like Britain where Irish purposely tried to make their names sound none Irish.

Kavanagh" and "Kavanaugh" are anglicised variations of the Irish Gaelic surname Caomhánach (Cʌoṁʌ̃nʌċ in traditional Gaelic script).[1] The surname was first assumed by Domhnall Caomhánach (the eldest son of the 12th century King of Leinster, Diarmait Mac Murchada) in Ireland.[2] A considerable number of anglicised variations of Caomhánach exist, with some of the most common being: "Kavanagh", "Cavanagh", "Kavanaugh" and "Cavanaugh".[3]

Hopefully we won't see any members of congress try to discriminate against him based on his faith like Sanders tried to do to Russell Vought.

The attacks are going to be vicious and personal . The Democrats will go after him, his family and leave no stone unturned.
