Actually no. He said the Koreans “sit up at attention” when Kim speaks and jokingly suggested that we do the same for him.
But of course when people are ideologically opposed to you, they will make a point of not getting your jokes.

I heard Trump talking about how it would be great if he could become ruler for life like Xi Jinping of China. It did not seem to me like he was making a joke:

Trump seemed to get angry when he did not get his way. He was considering firing Muehler at one point until Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell said they would support Bob Muehler. The White House Counsel also blocked Trump's efforts to fire Muehler:

“Politics” is why the Korea situation went unsolved for as long as it did. Politicians are all about saying pretty things to the public while they quietly increase their power and fortune.

Some people will never get that, and in spite of him doing as good a job if not batter than some, he will always be a bad in their view.

It could be reported he was killed pushing someone out of the way of an oncoming car, and they'd find a way to spin that into a bad thing.

And I'm not putting all that on the OP either, I's just generally the way it is, and one would think they'd a calmed down a bit by now.
