Peace be unto you.
It is not the whole that need a physician, but they that are “sick”. THE Physician calls the sinners to repentance.
Matthew 9:11-13 KJV
(11) And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
(12) But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
(13) But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His Word is not in us.
1 John 1:8-10 KJV
(8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
(9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
(10) If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
He calls the sinners (those who can admit that they are sinners) to repentance. Those who trust in their own righteousness will not hear His call and will vilify what they hear the Spirit saying.
The preachers that He shall call must RENOUNCE the hidden things of dishonesty. They must no longer walk in craftiness nor the handling of the Word of God deceitfully for their own unjust gain. They deceptively preach according to their covetousness with the flattering tongue (which hides the covetousness lurking within their hearts) and make merchandise of those whom they preach to. There is forgiveness for such things...but we must HEAR His calling and forsake those things and follow Him.
2 Corinthians 4:
(1) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;
(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
(3) But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
They must cease from preaching themselves…in their own authority….as they serve only to feed their own belly….seeking the earthly things in the church: preaching for pay in order to get their food, drink and what to wear. They serve their own belly rather than our Lord Jesus Christ who commanded His disciples to “freely give” as they have freely received.
This is what is blinding their minds (the serving in the churches for their own belly for their own earthly necessities) so that they cannot understand the good news of Christ nor the Scriptures. They seek these things in the churches just as the outside nations seek them.
Their preaching is without understanding. They are "blind" as they cannot understand the words of the Book as they honor Him with their lips but go after their covetousness within their hearts.
If they have no understanding, then those that they are “preaching” to have absolutely no understanding of the good news of Christ (whose eternal life is to be made manifest for the here-and-now). There is a severe “famine” of hearing the Word of Truth in the churches of men where there is no understanding. There is no knowledge in the churches of men.
(4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
(5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
The "eyes of understanding" have been closed by Him.
Isaiah 29:9-15 KJV
(9) Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.
(10) For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.
The "literate"...the "learned"...church men cannot understand the Scriptures for it is sealed. They go to bible college and receive degrees and yet still cannot understand.
(11) And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
If the "learned" cannot understand the Scriptures, then certainly the laypersons...the church that they are preaching to.... cannot understand.
(12) And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Certainly their lips honor Him but their heart (collectively) are far removed from Him and their fear toward Him is taught by the precept of men...their church handwritings that they want us to keep. They go secretly after their hidden covetousness within their heart and think that they Lord does not see their works that are in the dark.
(13) Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
(14) Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.
(15) Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?
Preaching the Word of God deceptively….using flattering words….is an evil “net” to catch others in order to “RECEIVE GIFTS”. Their net is hidden from those who are “caught” by them. We must renounce the hidden things of dishonesty and follow Him.
Proverbs 29:4-6 KJV
(4) The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
(5) A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
(6) In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
They deceptively preach “every wind of doctrine” to those who are carried about with what they preach. They lie in wait to deceive.
Ephesians 4:14 KJV
(14) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Those who catch people with their “net”….using their deceptive tongue….are glad and rejoice as they are getting their earthly needs met by doing so.
Habakkuk 1:12-17 KJV
(12) Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
(13) Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
(14) And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them?
(15) They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
The using of their “net” to deceive brings them their portion…..which is “fat” and their meat is plenteous. They rejoice and are glad as they feed themselves and their portion is rich while those that they are supposedly “feeding” are spiritually famine-stricken.
They are proud of this as they "sacrifice unto their net" and praise themselves for their effectiveness in capturing many in their "nets."
(16) Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous.
(17) Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
But the Lord comes to call such to forsake their “nets” and follow Him. They must RENOUNCE the deceptive handling of the Word of God.
IF they can hear His voice and forsake their “nets” to follow Him, then they can be true “fishers of men” with the Word of Truth. They shall understand and be able to truly feed His people rather than be feeding themselves only.
Mark 1:16-20 KJV
(16) Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
(17) And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
Again, they are to hear His voice and immediately FORSAKE their “nets” and follow Him so that they may truly be fishers of men with the Word of Truth. They are to renounce the hidden things of dishonesty….not walking in craftiness.
Simon and Andrew both immediately FORSOOK their “nets” and followed Him. We must do the same when we hear His calling.
(18) And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.
The preachers (the sinners) must cease from preaching for “gifts” (Zebedee = giving, gift). They must leave off preaching for money, gifts, “offerings”, “tithes”, etc as the other “HIRED SERVANTS” are doing and go after Him instead.
They must leave that “ship”. There are many “hired” preachers in the same boat all preaching for gifts as they serve for their “father” Zebedee….meaning “giving, gifts”. We must from their occupation of preaching for gifts and follow Him so that we may know the Scriptures and be able to be fishers of men rather than fishers of those things that the nations (the seas) go after.
(19) And when he had gone a little further thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.
James and John both left their “father Zebedee” in the ship with the other hired servants and went after Him.
(20) And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
