Who knows, all I know is it must have been from God as the devil isnt omniscient, and the furnace prophecy precisely describes my current circumstances
Well, Ben, I guess the questions are:
1.) Are you an egg?
Is this how God sees you? None of God's children are described in Scripture this way. Christians are called sheep (
John 10:1-30), and children (
Galatians 3:26), and joint-heirs with Christ (
Romans 8:17); they are called saints, and priests, and kings (
Revelation 1:5-6; 5:10; Ephesians 2:19); they are called ambassadors (
2 Corinthians 5:20), and a sweet-smelling fragrance of Christ (
2 Corinthians 2:15), and living letters of Christ (
2 Corinthians 3:3) but no where in all of Scripture are they referred to as eggs. This vision doesn't seem very biblical, then, does it? It doesn't accord with how God describes His children in His word. This should give you good cause to be skeptical of the vision, I think.
2.) What happens to an egg in a furnace?
It's burnt to ash, of course; it is destroyed. Is this the fate of God's children? Are they to be destroyed by the difficulties they face? Not if God can help it. He's promised to work all things - good and bad - together for our good (
Romans 8:28). He uses hardship and suffering to discipline us (
Hebrews 12:5-12), to purify us (
Isaiah 1:25; 1 Peter 1:7), and to strengthen us (
1 Peter 5:10) but He does not ever intend that the trials and sorrows of life should destroy us. So, again, this "vision" doesn't stand up well to a comparison to Scripture which should make you very, very reluctant to give it any weight.
So, it isn't a matter of "Who knows?" You want to know if a thing is of God, you test it by the truth and light of His word. I just did, and your "vision" is shown to be at odds with what God says. Be wise: reject the "vision" for the nonsense that it is.
