Studying on the Exodus a thought occurred to me that there is that situation where Miriam got leprosy for challenging Moses. It had to do with a wive of Moses, called the 'Cushite woman'.

Not to get into any racial talk here, I was wondering about this and when looking it up it may be that he had three wives?

1.Zipporah - the wife of his personal exodus from Egypt

2.The Cushite woman

3. And one mentioned in Judges 4

11 Now Heber the Kenite had left the other Kenites, the descendants of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law, and pitched his tent by the great tree in Zaanannim near Kedesh.

How do you get a third wife from this verse?

My understanding is that Zipporah was a Cushite.

Wondering, are Kenites, Midianites?

Since there's only one Moses in the whole bible this is speaking of the same Moses Ben Aram.

"Now Heber the Kenite had left the other Kenites, the descendants of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law, and pitched his tent by the great tree in Zaanannim near Kedesh."

Moses' supposedly had a Father in law named Jethro and a FIL named, Hobab

10:29 Moses said to Hovav son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,

Name ------------- Tribe------------- Verses
Reuel ------------- Midianite ------------- Exod 2:16-21
Jethro (*Jether) ----- Midianite------------- Exod 3:1, 4:18, ch. 18
Hovav ben Reuel---- Midianite ------------- Num 10:29
Hovav ------------- Kenite ------------- Judg 4:11
Unnamed/Keni -------- Kenite ------------- Judg 1:16

We know that Zipphora was the daughter of a man called Jethro (or Reuel), who was a priest in the land of Midian Ex 3:1 and 2:16-22. The Bible doesn't say that Moses had more than one wife but I can see where the question of this thread came from.

Num 12:1 “Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.” This is where the question of the number of Moses’ wives hinges on... the identity of this Cushite (or Ethiopian) woman.

I don't see a third wife though. I want to throw this verse out there though.

Exodus 4:20: “Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt.” Wife is singular, and there is no mention of any other wife or wives that Moses had.
