Peace to those who may read.
Genesis 3:8 speaks of the Day of Judgment that came to Adam (and upon all man who has also sinned).
Adam and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the “cool”…that is, SPIRIT of the Day (the Day of Judgment, the Day of salvation) and they hid themselves from the presence (face) of the LORD God in the middle of the TREE (in Hebrew…the “tree” is SINGULAR and not plural) of the garden. Our sins hide His face as when we sin, we show we do not know God. We show we KNOW God by keeping His commandments. We hide from His face when we don't.
The “tree” that they were hiding in the middle of is the tree of life…hiding behind the reputation that they have life but are really dead. They had an opportunity to repent and walk with God as children of the Day in the Spirit but chose to hide behind their “living” reputation...the name that they are alive. They had a chance to show that they know God by doing His commandments at the hearing of His voice.
Genesis 3: (8) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
By one man’s offence, judgment came upon all men to condemnation. We die because of our sins. Our mortal bodies perish from off this earth as the wages of sin is death. We are dead even while we are living here for death is a certainty.
But if we put to death the deeds of the flesh through the Spirit in Jesus Christ and walk as children of the Day in the Spirit, we shall live in this earth. We shall live the life of Jesus…His eternal life in this earth…and not perish from off this terra firma world as it was meant to be from the beginning. We must hear His voice and be found of Him putting on Christ and not hiding from His face. We show we know the Father and the Son by DOING His commandments.
Romans 5:17-19 KJV
(17) For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
(18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
(19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
If we hear His voice in the Spirit of the Day (Today) speaking in the Spirit, let us not harden our hearts through the deceitfulness of sin. All those who do unrighteousness show that they do NOT KNOW God … hiding from His face just as Adam did in the beginning.
We are to hear what the Spirit is saying and be found of Him putting on Christ to cover our nakedness….our lack of true works of righteousness. The keeping of the doctrines and commandments of men are NOT true works of His righteousness.
Hebrews 3:12-15 KJV
(12) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
(13) But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
(14) For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
(15) While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
We must be found of Him bearing fruit and not just leaves only. We cannot cover ourselves with “Lord, Lord” and not be found of Him bearing good fruit...the fruits of the Spirit. Leaves only are not sufficient to cover ourselves. Calling upon His name WITHOUT DOING His will is not enough. Faith without good works is DEAD…dead on arrival.
Genesis 3:7-10 KJV
(7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
(8) And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
(9) And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
(10) And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
He must find us with good FRUIT…fruit of the Spirit (peace, love, joy, gentleness, etc)…and not just “leaves” only (words without good deeds).
Matthew 21:18-20 KJV
(18) Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
(19) And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
(20) And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
Leaves only is NOT ENOUGH. Not everyone that says unto Him “Lord, Lord” shall enter in but he that DOES the will of His Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
(21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
We cannot say “Lord, Lord” and do evil deeds supposedly done in His name (authority). We cannot cast out the “devils” out of our gatherings just because we do not agree with what they are speaking (in the Spirit of Truth). Doing evil deeds SUPPOSEDLY IN HIS NAME (His authority) towards those who come to speak the Word of Truth to the churches of carnally-thinking men does NOTHING for us.
(22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
We show we do NOT KNOW HIM when we do evil deeds (I NEVER KNEW YOU). Let us not be found of Him "hiding from His face" at the hearing of His voice.
(23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Let us follow after good and not evil. Diotrephes threw out the “devils” out of his church because he loved to be first among men. He did not receive the brothers who came preaching the Word of Truth to their ears but instead chose to do evil against them. So many men in the churches shall do the same today when they hear His voice walking the Spirit of the Day. They will prate against them with malicious words...showing that they do not KNOW GOD as they "hide" from His face behind their reputation that they are "alive" and not dead. Let us not forget to entertain strangers and their words. Let us not forget to let brotherly love continue and not follow after the example of those who love to be first among their churches.
3 John 1:5-12 KJV
(5) Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
(6) Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well:
(7) Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles.
(8) We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.
(9) I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.
(10) Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.
Those who are found doing evil towards the hearing of His voice show that they have not seen God as they "hide" from His face with their evil deeds. We show we know God by DOING His commandments.
(11) Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
(12) Demetrius hath good report of all men, and of the truth itself: yea, and we also bear record; and ye know that our record is true.
Either make the tree good and his fruit good or make the tree corrupt and his fruit corrupt. We cannot be BOTH. Diotrephes shall reveal himself in every church gathering at the hearing of His voice. We must be found of Him bringing forth good fruit towards the hearing of His voice in the Spirit of the Day.
Matthew 12:33-37 KJV
(33) Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
(34) O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
(35) A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
EVERY idle word that men shall speak towards the hearing of His voice in the Day of Judgment shall they give an account for. By our words shall we be justified and by our words shall we be condemned. As He hears our words, He judges and His judgment is just.
(36) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
(37) For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
We cannot hide behind the reputation that we have life but are really dead. We cannot hide in the middle of the tree (of life) in name only. We must partake of its fruit and not take the name of Christ only. All of those who take the name of Christ MUST depart from evil works. Faith ALONE is not good enough. Faith without good works towards the hearing of His voice in the Spirit is DEAD. We are "dead" without good works towards the hearing of the Spirit.
Revelation 3:1-6 KJV
(1) And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Our works are not found complete before God when we speak evil of another in our wrath at what we hear. Our good works towards the hearing of His voice is the evidence of our faith. Where are you Adam? Where is the evidence of your faith?
(2) Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
(3) Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
“Sardis” = “red ones” = wrath. The wrath of man does NOT WORK the righteousness of God. We must be found of Him putting on Christ….white garments…HIS righteous works…at the hearing of His voice. We must overcome our wrath and be found of Him bringing forth good fruit as we hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches.
(4) Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
(5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Where are you Adam? Faith WITHOUT good works (His righteousness) is dead.
James 2:17-26 KJV
(17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
(18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
(19) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
(20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
(21) Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Good works completes our faith. Our faith is then found complete before God. We cannot rest upon faith alone....our reputation that we are supposedly alive but are dead.
(22) Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
(23) And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
(24) Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
(25) Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
(26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Adam was afraid. He did not have good works to dress himself in at the hearing of His voice and chose to hide from the face of the Lord.
Genesis 3:9-10 KJV
(9) And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
(10) And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
We show we KNOW God (not hiding from His face) when we have LOVE for another. He that loves God loves his brother also and show that we know Him who is true. We are to hear His voice and remember to let brotherly love continue as that brother may be speaking His words to our ears.
1 John 4:16-21 KJV
(16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Our love is made COMPLETE (perfect) by showing we have love. We shall have boldness in the Day of judgment when we hear His voice walking in the Spirit of the Day.
(17) Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
Adam had fear. There is NO FEAR in love but complete love casts out fear.
(18) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
(19) We love him, because he first loved us.
We cannot hide behind “I love God” and yet hate our brothers.
(20) If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
(21) And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
