I'm happy for them.
You called Donald Trump an "adulterer" for being married to a woman after divorcing his previous wives and not getting a Catholic annulment, despite the fact that he isn't a Catholic. But you are "happy" for a Catholic man to be having an affair while both legally, and presumably sacramentally, still married?

As far as the "dating your dead spouse's sibling" angle goes, I really don't see a problem. It's more common than people might think. I think it may have happened in my family in olden days, not directly but a branch of the family.

Yes! I am not above adultery myself. It's okay with me that both Biden and Trump appear to be adulterers, I'm sure they gave it due consideration. My comments regarding the fact the Mr Trump is a serial adulterer were in response to partisan criticism of Mrs Clinton for forgiving her husband's indiscretions. If we want to talk about our sex lives and criticize everyone else's, I'm cool with that. If we want to be reasonable and quit starting alarmist threads about who is sleeping with who, I'm cool with that too.

So Mike , your advocating adultery? I know nothing about your personal issues with adultery According to your post
I am not above adultery myself.

But I don't feel you should have attacked me for pointing out a news story that speaks of Beau Biden having a relationship with his brothers wife.

I found that to be odd, should most. But of course I was attacked for it.

I'm an adulterer. I'm a despicable poor sinner for it. It always has and always will grieve me to see others do it. Me having done it doesn't make it right. I'm not happy for adulterers. Repent and then go, and sin no more.

That's weird, you've mentioned it out of the blue on 3 seperate occasions, and I know I've spoken of it publicly on here a few times. I'm an open book, I don't believe in deceit.

But I don't feel you should have attacked me for pointing out a news story that speaks of Beau Biden having a relationship with his brothers wife.

You feel you were attacked? Huh. We have different thresholds for use of that term.

I'm not advocating for sin, the teaching of the Church is what it has to be, it cannot change and I'm not saying it should or distracting from it.

Unless, of course, homosexuality is involved then we're going ALL Old Testament ALL the time.

nah
if we were going Old Testament then we would need more rocks

both the Old and New Testaments point out that homosexual acts are sinful
as well as being the consistent teaching of the Church over the ages

They also Both point out that Greed & Gluttony are sinful, and I'm pretty sure the Church does not teach the opposite.

As soon as someone can demonstrate that the unrepentant Greedy Gluttonist has a different eternal fate than the unrepentant Homosexual, I'd likely start to understand why there aren't as many anti greed/gluttony threads here as there are anti homosexual threads...

And Greedy people still get to invest in the stock market and Gluttons still get to go to all you can eat buffets.

So a homosexual should be able to have sex and get married without their civil rights being restricted.

maybe because no one is saying that greed and gluttony are good things? (outside the movie Wall Street)
so there is not much debate about it, it is just "these things are bad" and everyone is like "oh ok"

but with homosexual actions, some people look for loopholes, for exceptions, trying to silence the truth, arguing against it, or just scoffing at those preaching the truth

and so, we get debates and thread after thread

Are you kidding me ?

This whole mother loving country is built and about greed and gluttony. What do we have 5% of the world population ? We consume 30% of the worlds resources. That's gluttony on a breathtaking scale.

You want greed ? We deny climate change and condemn millions to flood, heat, famine and theist (and war) because we don't even have the political will to just apply a carbon tax, let alone actually spend money to remediate a problem we have a huge hand in causing.

(Oh, I forgot, there is no such thing as climate change)

Hardly. I suspect you know full well that the country you live in is among the world's fattest, and that a higher percentage of Americans are obese than are homosexual. A person who says "I consume more than I need to and I think always will." will not get the same "welcome" in this forum as someone who has sex with people of the same gender. We have posters who speak of their collections of art or their guns or their boats or their fancy dinners - these gluttons get free passes while homosexuals are set aside as special sinners - especially, it seems, by self-loathing homosexuals. Carry on crying about who "ruined the forum" but don't look in the mirror.

Hey, tall, I'm not promoting anything. I merely point out the fair is fair when measuring the restriction of civil rights on sinners vis a vis Christian political thought.
