Power of giving thanks to God... And how it relates to your faith or belief...

Let your petitions, requests be made known to God with thanksgiving, or giving thanks for, to God....

Philippians 4:6-7: "Be anxious for nothing, (don't fret or worry about the things you ask God for in doing this, with thanksgiving to God) but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests (requests, petitions) be made known to God (giving thanks) (Just "believe" it is done or being done, and give no other or further thought to it, other than that) (not being anxious about it)."

4:7- "And the peace of God, (security and peace in what you have asked by securing by giving thanks) which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds (solidify what you believing for, giving thanks to secure) through Christ Jesus."

It's very hard to thank God for something you do not believe you have, or will, or are about to receive from him...

John 14:13- "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

John 11:22- "But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”

To secure these promises, "ask", and then, give "thanks" to secure and solidify it in your belief in it...
For example, I had a bad tooth, and I woke up one morning with my jaw all swollen and hurting, and I thought it might have been infected... I placed my hand on it, prayed to the lord about it, and then, then gave "thanks" for his taking care of it like I asked him too, not doubting that it would happen, that it would go down and be OK...

It did not happen instantly, but, I thanked God that he was doing it and working on it, and the next day, the swelling and pain had gone down drastically, the day after that, it had gone away completely...
Was it because of my belief in it, by combining my faith with his and in him, that it got better, or just coincidence? I don't think it was coincidence, but, even if it was, I'd much rather pray over a thing like that, and believe I receive, by securing it with thanks, than not do it at all...

I've done this with a lot of things recently, and it's been working every time and has not failed me thus far...

It's very hard to say thanks for something your doubting... Try it in faith, free of doubt... And see what happens....

God Bless!
