God made an earth that that will stand the test of time:

Jeremiah 33:2 MSG

“This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God:

With the haze, VW scandal and all the other bad things humans are doing to the earth, we can take comfort in God’s Word that we have a robust earth.

That doesn’t mean we can continue trashing our planet. It just means we needn’t worry so much about it dying on us. God in His foreknowledge knew what man in his greed would do to the earth, so He made it a hardy one.

In the New King James translation, Jeremiah 33:2 is rendered:

“Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name):

From a quick reading of some commentaries, I learned that the “it”s here can refer to the earth (as translated by the Message Bible), the city of Jerusalem or the prophecy itself given to Jeremiah.

But there’s something more interesting about the “it”s that I discovered.

In looking at the original Hebrew text, I found to my delight that the second or middle “it” points to our Lord Jesus.

The second “it” was actually translated from two Hebrew letters, Aleph and Tav, the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet (see picture, note that Hebrew reads from right to left).

If you are familiar with the Aleph-Tav teaching, you will know that Aleph-Tav is the SIGNATURE of Jesus. It’s our Lord’s secret code, symbol or footprint that is hidden in strategic places in the Hebrew Scriptures of the Old Testament.

This symbol is usually left untranslated because it would be like trying to translate “AZ” in the middle of an English sentence into a Chinese or French word. Where it is translated (as in Jeremiah 33:2), it is simply to aid readability—put an “it” there so the sentence reads better.

But why is the Aleph-Tav a reference to Jesus?

In Revelation 22:13, Jesus said:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. But Jesus didn’t speak Greek to the apostle John, who recorded the Lord’s words and visions in the book of Revelation. Jesus spoke Hebrew to the Jewish apostle.

In other words, Jesus said, “I am the Aleph and the Tav, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

Now, each Hebrew letter is also represented by a pictogram. The pictogram for Aleph is an ox. The pictogram for Tav is a cross.

Who is the fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrificial ox or animals? Jesus.

Who died on the cross in the New Testament? Jesus.

Without a doubt, Jesus is the Aleph-Tav!

So coming back to Jeremiah 33:2, who made the earth, formed it and established it?

Yes, it tells us that the Lord (in small caps, meaning Jehovah or Yahweh) is His name.

But who is Jehovah or Yahweh?

From the Aleph-Tav signature or clue, we know that He is none other than our Lord Jesus.

Here is another example of the Aleph-Tav signature, hidden in the very first verse of the Bible:

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God [Aleph-Tav] created the heavens and the earth.

Again, if you read this verse in the original Hebrew, you’ll see that right after the Hebrew word for “God,” you find the untranslated Aleph-Tav signature.

So who is the God who created the heavens and the earth? What is His name? JESUS!
