The Story Often Told

It's the story very often told,
Of Christ dying on the cross,
The disciples left behind,
Were devastated at their loss,
Yet three days later he arose again,
A joyous day for all,
And that is why we celebrate,
The story often told,
So midst the chocolate Easter eggs,
The bunnies and daffodils tall,
Just spare a thought for the Easter message,
And how Christ died to save us all.
