People have told me He is Lord because He is the ruler or our lives and that He is the King of Kings but idk what that means. What does Lord mean? How is Jesus Lord? Lord of what? if He is Lord of our lives, what in particular is He Lord over in our lives? Please explain it to me because I'm always confused about this.

It was contrasted with the whole idea that Caesar is lord . thus the saying one cannot say Jesus is Lord except by the holy spirit .. in the same way no one would say . yes execute me in the name of Jesus please . except by the holy spirit . Jesus is Lord was very counter cultural in its day .

It means Jesus was not just a physical being, but a spiritual being. Jesus was divine. When people claimed to be lord at that time it was about divinity.

usually it means owner.
'lord of the manner' = owner of the farm.
KING of Peace
the one responsible IF you are in his household..
or if you are a child/son/slave/ servant in his household.

and I do hate to inform everyone of the simple fact there is only two household death and his..

no other owners ,,,, but there is a lot of wannabe lords..

Jesus is Lord is a statement that originated with the early Jesus movement and its challenges to the despotic Roman Empire. By professing Jesus as Lord, these early disciples were saying, "Jesus shows us the ways of the the kingdom and the ways of the God" He is our liberator, he is our peace and our allegiance is to the Kingdom of God rather than Rome and its divide and conquer ways.
