Oh, there is a ton of information that would concern you if you were a devout christian.
No offense meant, but if I understand correctly, as a non-christian, you and the general public should still be concerned on multiple levels. Islam is not so much a religion as it is a social movement that endangers women's rights more so than men's rights. Here are a few depictions that are safe to show here on this forum:

This has turned into a social struggle to keep islam from spreading, and not a religious struggle. If this has nothing to do with christianity, that is fine with me. Personally however, it is a religious issue.

Thanks TG123 for your story. I emphathize with why you chose Christianity in midst of your struggle.

I guess my final faith choice as of now is anectodal as well and is not based on objective reasoning.

I have a feeling I'm heading more and more closer to "Nothing is absolute, and everything is possibly permissible" (Assassin's creed)

I am so unstable. I can't firmly decide anything.

G*d forbid.
That is wonderful and unique.

I am getting ready to launch small internet ads that depict graphically, the worse of islam, in hopes of scaring my community to steer clear of that religion if and when muslims arrive. What do you think of this approach? Would it be productive or not.

I think it would be best if you launched a class to educate people on the mistakes and fallacies of Islam, and prepare them eith the arguments muslims will present them when trying to convert them. If you choose to do this I could help you quite a bit since I have studied the arguments muslims will use when trying to convert you and know them quite well. The pictures would create stereotypes and it would be easy for the muslim invader to shun them away and later convert your community if they are not wearing their armour.

Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

God bless,

Then a few months ago I started debating with a very intelligent muslim. During one of our debates he told me "read the Bible and the Quran and compare. You will see the light."

Today I am an Orthodox Christian thanks to a muslim ;)

All praise be to God,
:amen:

What was the thought process which led you from not believing either were true, to deciding to not only pick one, but to dedicate your life to it as well? I'd like you to walk me through it, if you would. Thanks. :)

It is very hard to explain, because it wasn't really exterior evidence, it was more of personal things that occured to me only after I started researching about the religion. Christianity also gave me a very warm and relaxing feeling which I didn't experience before.

I understand the armor of G*d but Im afraid most americans do not, as you probably know. Either way, I would love to hear your take on the arguments muslims use to convert others.

I agree a classroom structure would be ideal but I have to look at this approach without that luxury. I have to reach people who know nothing about religion and have not been influenced by islam. The majority in my area are just cold, non-practicing christians (an ideal location for islam to take root). I still think graphic images together with statistical data or informative data, would convince people to stay away from islam. I hope Im right. Here is an example of something people can relate with.

Switzerland: Pupil Bullied Out of School by Classmates Because he Refused to Convert to Islam | The Body Of Truth

I wish to pursuade people without making it appear as though christianity is a better religion. I do not want it to be a fight between religions. I simply want people to see the evils of islam on society. This alone would go a long way.

What was going on in your life at the time?

At home my parents often fought ... my Dad would never lay a hand on us but would often yell at us, put us down, give the "silent treatment" ... Things at home (with my parents) are still rough
...
the temptation of inappropriate contentography... due to God's grace and mercy I have now been clean from it completely for over 6 months
...
I have at times neglected my Biblical duty to stand up for justice and to be a good neighbour and friend to people who live in poverty. I need to pray and read my Bible more
Glad you can see that the problem is with your father, not you since he acted that way towards your mother too (and I would uess towards his friends and other relatives as well.) Any other relatives not living at home who can intercede with your father and stick up for you? Have you considered moving out?
...
Have you considered inappropriate content filtering software for your computer? You could create a long random password then burn the password after you install the software so you can't uninstall it.
...
Helping those who need it is a good thing, I don't have a Biblical citation, but I remember something in the OT (possibly NT also) that says it's okay to work on the sabbath for example to save a life or do other good deeds.
...
Thanks for sharing your statement of faith.

My Turn

As a child I grew up in a mostly non-religious enviroment, my grandfather was a Preacher and a very religious man(as was my grandmother) and my wider family was moderately Christian but my parents were very relaxed my father being a lapsed catholic and my mother being a hippie-esque Agnostic.

I developed a personal interest in religion when I was about 14, and naturally being White British in England, I gravitated towards Christianity, it seemed the natural thing to do.
I never stuck with any one denomination but I attended a pair of Churches one CoE and one Methdoist for a few years, while delving head-first into Theological Study and Bible study.

I loved it, I spent hours every day either pouring over the Bible or pouring through Books on Scriptural History, Early Church, Grace, Salvation , Critiques and comparisons of the Gospel and soon developed a great love for the Old Testament and it's relevance and mythology.

Shortly after I leaft the Army when I had just entered University I for a host of reasons decided that Christianity was not the faith I desired and I had been far to closed minded in my search.
I certainly , ardently desired a relationship with God and was completely sure he wanted one with me, I just didn't think that relationship was going to be based within the confines of Christianity.
I spent a time going over my old days of when I studied Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism etc spending great periods of time not only learning the theology and practice, but incorporating that practice into my life to the extent that I lived in a Buddhist Monastery for five months, I had remained friends with the University Christian Union, and still took part in events and even sung and played Organ at a local Church though I had long ago abbandoned my Christian faith in every aspect save a love of Scriptural History and a few worship artists.

My journey finally came to an end a few years ago when after study, debate and most importantly long prayer, I found my home in Vaishnavism, the change in my lifestyle my spiritual health and my relationship with God has only grown stronger and stronger.

Im exceptionally thankful I found a home at His Lords Lotus feet, now I just like to mong around and have friendly debates.

Thanks for the response. I have moved out several years ago, although I see my parents often. Regarding filtering, what worked for me is a program called x3- basically it means a good friend from my church sees the websites I look at and gets an update every 2 weeks. I stopped looking at inappropriate content before I got the program, but having done this with him as well as a lot of praying has helped keep me away from it. Take care and God bless.
