I want to make an impact

Wow! It's rare to find teens like you or young adults like you! I hope and pray to God He will bless you and you're family. That's exactly How I feel too- how you wanting God to use you to make an impact on people's lives.

I'm happy you want to do this. But by no means does finance have anything to do with it. Start locally. Start up a bible study in Starbucks. People start freakin' when they see 20 or so youth lining the walls of their local starbucks reading a Bible. Start a prayer group in your school. If you are an athlete see if there is some Christian organization for athletes in your school, like Fellowship of Christian Athletes or something like that. Then go deeper. See what God has in store for your life. Get involved with as many things as possible and find what suits you best. Thats the great thing about ministry. It is very adaptive to various people. But remember, God loves to pick you up with *insert little green men voice from toy story* the claw *end* and drop you out of your comfort zone. Thats how you grow. Hope this helps!

Amen guys, shake up the world! Step out of the comfort zone....live for Christ and not the world. We are aliens, so we need to show the world we are different, don't get comofrtable here and conform...we were meant to stand out!

Then focus on one person. It might seem like that doesn't make an impact, but it does. You don't know what that person might go and do. But in the end, you started the rock rolling that hit a boulder which hit a switch that triggered a nuclear explosion, all thanks to your willingness to take on one person in discipleship. Impact is very hard to see, but when you step back, you'll see it. Its just the devil putting thoughts in your head. Don't fret.

I fully agree with that GoL, and Morgan....one great thing to do to just start making a difference is just prayer. One good thing to do to change things is to make a list(...mental or physical...just make sure you remember it) of people who need Christ in their lives, and pray for these people everyday, just never stop praying for them. Also pray that the Lord will put you in situations where you can witness to those people and others. The crazy thing is how many opportunities like that we walk by everyday. Our schools and work places are some of the greatest mission fields we will every experience. We are all called to be ministers and missionaries, that may not be the career God places you in, but that doesn't mean you can't be a witness and spread the message in whatever field you go into. You just have to have a mind focused on the Lord's plan for your life, not your own plan, cause it won't get you anywhere.

Salt and Light right. if only we'd step out on faith! lol i live in NYC brooklyn and i get on the train and sometimes feel convicted to get up on the train and preach.. but i can never get over that Man Fear.. i mean im 18 and little and i just get really discouraged.. i know its very spiritual as well, cuz i feel guilty and crippled. but when that happens i pray then i start singing. you know God inhabits the praises of his people and enemy spirits got nothing on His holiness they disperse! when i cant preach i just start singing a song or rapping depends! but go for it guys who cares what men think! its what god thinks! <-- although i need to practice this as well! be thankful in all things! Praise god guys! i mean i can chat with my family from anywhere!! no donkey needed paul would of got in! but now its our turn!

i strongly believe in making an impact on other peoples lives.
i have done ALOT of volunteering in my life,
but for some reason i still dont feel as if it is enough.

sometimes you have to weigh the fact on if you are taking care of yourself enough before you can make an impact.

This is excellent, and I completely agree! For some reason, and my close friends agree with me, it's so hard to simply not be lazy, which is part of my problem. I also don't see WHAT can be done to make a difference, and it feels like at my age, there is a limited amount of things I can do. Let the LORD Himself said not to let anyone despise you just because you are young. (1 Timothy 4:12) I say, go for whatever God wants you to do! What have you got to lose?? God has already rescued your soul! And I need to keep reminding myself of this to keep me diligent and seeking after God's will with all pursuit and my whole entire being!

You truly are an inspiration! Keep growing in God, and learning how you can be changed into becoming everything He wants you to be! If you have any specific suggestions or ideas on how we as a younger generation can make an impact, please let me know, because my youth group are looking for more ways to serve, and all opinions or suggestions would be openly accepted as we find more ways in which we can serve God more!!

i know exactly how you feel because i feel the same way. i feel that god has picked me to be someone to go out into the world and help people. I think it is why i have a deep love for the healthcare field and i am in school for it. I always (even if i always get dizzy and faint) donate blood at blood drives when i can because even though some are against it, i believe that god is not against it because he knows that when someone donates blood, they put the lives of others ahead of themselves and i feel so happy in my heart knowing that i have saved a life or even lives. I always try my best to help others out when they ask, or even when i see them struggle with something and i ask them if they need help. I donate food a lot to charity, same with old clothes. I try to do volunteer work and i am trying more to get involved in my church as well as school. I say good morning and "i hope you have a great day!~" to many people. if someone is upset, i try my best to cheer them up. if someone has lost something, i help them look for it.

And why am i mentioning all this? Because through everything i do, even the small things, can show impact on peoples days and lives. I spread the love of god though every thing i do because i am sure that is what the god would want, for me to spread the love of god were ever i go. <3
