President Obama stated that U.S. troops will be leaving Iraq by the end of this year.
Do you agree with that decision?
If you don't, then when should our troops leave?
We shouldn't have gone in Iraq in the first place and we need to get out.

The puzzling thing to me is the betrayal of the pro-withdrawal base of the Democratic Party by President Obama. During the election campaign he was crystal clear that he would withdraw American troops from both Iraq and Afghanistan. Here we are now three years after his election with no end in sight plus an invasion of a country (Libya) which did not pose any threat to us (that is U.S.) or anyone else outside of its borders.

I agree that we never should have gone in. I guess Mr. Bush couldn't help imself. He should have finished the job in Afghanistan first. History will tell if he made the right decision.
I agree. IMHO, we should have committed the resources to Afghanistan and got Bin Laden back years before we finally did. We were also at the peak of our international influence and had the backing of many Muslim countries. Iraq took that away

The cost of having both wars and the Bush tax cuts have crippled the US.

They are still going to have 15000 people at the compound in Iraq for training and whatever else. They are just changing their names. And there will be way more military contractors who btw get payed at least 10 times more than military personnel.

How much of you actually believe Obama? Even if he is telling the truth is it simple a re-election strategy. These guys aren't sincere. For years now they have been itching to invade Iran. Since the 2008 debates, they have been talking about Iran and now more than ever because of some ridiculous excuse for an assassination attempt, they want to invade. The white house is supportive of such action and all of the republican candidates save Ron Paul is supportive of this. Even if those troops are pulled out, they might be later send to Iran anyway.

You shouldn't have gone into Afghanistan either. But then what else are Americans but burger munching invasion monkeys?

I agree with this if you add 'your government' is burger munching invasion monkeys...

Saying us Americans are though is racist:)

Burger Munching invasion monkeys?:D Very funny. I also recall the Brits fighting along side our yanks.

I supported the Afghan war because the Taliban was helping Al Qaeda in their terrorist activities against the US. Many of the 9/11 hijackers trained there.

I don't like how Bush ran that war and feel if he had focused on that area it would be over and all forces would be home for both of our countries.

Actually Obama promised to withdraw American troops from Iraq but not from Afghanistan. Some Obama supporters may have hoped that he'd withdraw troops from Afghanistan, but such hope wasn't based on anything that the man said. As for me, I would strongly support any reasonable candidate who vowed to withdraw troops from both countries and to not start any new attempts to win hearts and minds by killing people. Since no such candidate has stepped forward during the past decade, I will support Obama as he'll at least give us withdrawal from Iraq. (Except for a few thousand military contractors, that is.)
