There was some of the inappropriate stuff in the last season of Torchwood, too. I'm still not seeing it, but hopefully it will come out in a place where I can watch it. :sigh:

:( I hope you can find somewhere to see it too--and soon! I know what it feels like to be one of the only ones--I'll keep looking for it for you online and will let you know if I find it anywhere.

Though I'd seen a few Tom Baker episodes with my brother when I was younger, my first "real" viewing of classic Dr Who was at the very first episodes with William Hartnell. I wish the classics were easier and cheaper to find, but I'm slowly building my viewing repertoire over the years.

The 1st 4 I saw with him were strangely good. My friend turned it on and it was all black and white and normally im like oh no black and white BOOOOOORRRRIIIINNNG but these were well done.

I love Doctor Who (you can tell from the avatar, can't you? :) ) - been watching it since I was at least 5 years old. Wonderful programme, I love the old ones as well as the new ones, and the Sarah Jane Adventures, and I'm enjoying Torchwood too at the moment - really excited to see where it's all going.

And then more new Doctor Who in the autumn - possibly as early as August 27th.

The first classic episode I saw was 'Planet of Evil', back in '87 or '88. It was one of those omnibus formats that seemingly every PBS station got...I didn't realize it was a series at first! I merely thought it was cheaply-made, yet strangely thrilling, sci-fi movie, a kind of throwback to Forbidden Planet or It Came from Outer Space. A few months later, they were showing 'Meglos'. It was during pledge drive, as I recall, and that's when i clued in to the fact that wasn't a sequel or anything, but an actual television series. And i haven't been quite the same since... :p

Hi! For anyone in the states, if you have an Amazon Prime acct at Amazon, all of the classic and the new Dr. Who series are available to stream free of charge from them over the net.......except for the Matt Smith shows....there is a small chg per episode for rental on them, but the older ones, are free to view as part of the Amazon Prime membership! It costs $80 a year, but it includes two day free shipping on whatever you buy from them.....and then they added the videos! Torchwood and Primeval are on there too, along with Farscape......and lots of other movies and shows!

Welcome David Brider to The Doctor Who thread. Well folks I bought a genuine piece of who history today. A small piece of Mandrell Costume from the Tom Baker Episode Nightmare of Eden. I also had a visit to London's Who Shop and bought a few bits and pieces including the DVD for The Sun makers they also had a small Museum of costumes and props at the back.

THey also sell stuff online.

IN other news I think we should start a worldwide campaign to get David Tennant to light the olympic torch at the games next year in London!

Any reviews on "Let's Kill Hitler"?

I liked it, but I've only seen it once so far. Still trying to wrap my mind around the timey-wimeyness of River's life.

Anyone keeping up with the Torchwood, Miracle Day series? I really liked the episode where they did the "history" of why/how/who...and this last episode was good as well.

Thoughts? Anyone out there??

This second half of the new DW series looks to be as good as the first half, getting some great moments from "Lets kill Hitler"

"Shut up Hitler and get in the cupboard"
"But I am the Furher!"

"Who's River?"
"Spoilers!"

"I was heading to the gay, Bar mitzfah for the disabled!"

"You are unauthorised, your death is imminent. You will feel a slight tingling followed by death."

"You are authorised, your continued existence is permitted"

"I am not Amy Pond, I am a verbal interface, you will die in 32 Minutes."
"I'm not fine."
"You are fine now but you will die in 32 minutes!"
