Because you can get different answers to the questions you ask on the many Boards to which you belong ?

Then you can choose the answer which most appeals to you
I'd agree...but aren't we being just a little harsh?

I have a great relationship with my priest, so I don't have a problem approaching him with a question.

So if you want an honest, good, and hearty answer going to your spiritual director would be your best bet not an internet forum where the answers aren't so sure.

Why is it so much easier to ask question on internet forums then asking spiritual directors?

Because you have to actually stand there and listen to what the spiritual director has to say. On the internet, you can skip answers you don't like (or people you don't like hehe).

Being honest - no I'm not being too harsh . This poster has come here asking questions - always a good thing to do - but take the example of his early questions about his belief that RCs should not eat meat - he was not prepared to listen to anything that was said - he felt vegetarianism was good therefore the Church should teach it .

We do not yet know whether he is actually attending any Church on a regular basis - he is asking questions about the Coptic Churches , about Traditional Masses , about various devotions , about the Divine Office [ he actually classed this as LIBERAL !! ]

He really needs to settle down and ask someone in real life for help

I was definitely not willing to accept meat eating. I still think vegetarianism is way better but I can't change the theology of the church.

I go to church some days a week and I attend the tridentine rite when possible and I love the traditionalism of the coptic orthodox church. Divine Office - Liturgy of the Hours - Breviary - Free Audio - Bible - Prayer is actually a liberal website. They have modern hymns instead of gregorian chant.
Well, I do have people in IRL I talk with but as I said, internet forums are way easier than IRL.

I can be more personal when I sit down to talk with IRL people I trust but when it comes to basic questions I often ask them on the internet since I am not so shy on the internet. Well, I just don't get this. That's why I asked the question.

Hmm I actually have come to believe vegan-ism as being very unhealthy. My philosophy on it is if the mighty lion were to go vegan, it would surely die...

anyway, didn't know a matter of song would deem the Divine Office.org website as being liberal. what would you call the many laypersons that rely solely on the liturgy of hours prayer book and didn't know the chants? I guess all of our churches that use modern songs in their liturgies for every Sunday mass liberal as well...

That somehow doesn't seem right tho...

i am talking about lacto-vegetarianism, not veganism.

For any one or combination:

The anonymity of the internet. Sometimes people are too embarrassed to ask or a question, worried about what his/her director will think of the question.

They get nervous confronting people.

Have never heard of spiritual direction.

Don't have access to a spiritual director.

Don't want a spiritual director.
