Sleeping in their own room

I don't remember exactly, but at a few months. I had a baby monitor to know when there was a problem.

When they were preschoolers. We have/had a family bed. I have a 7 yo that wakes up @3am every day and crawls into our bed. It's not something we've had an issue with because we're sound asleep and he doesn't disturb us at all.

6 weeks for the first.

second was around 4 months

third will still sometimes sleep in our room, she is 14.5 months

For future children, I'd have LOVED to be able to continue breastfeeding and cosleeping up until 6-12 months.

But.. my plans didn't work out for DS. DH hates co sleeping. Breastfeeding didn't work out. And our bed was too small. So, DS was in a swing first 3 months, then in his crib after that, and then by 6 months he was in his own room in his crib where we could shut the door.

Emily went into her own room at 6 weeks..we had a monitor so it was no big deal. She had been in a bassinett at the end of our bed until then..I would never co sleep.

I put within 1st month. I did keep them in our bedroom in the beginning but usually in their own little sleeping area I made up for them. When they outgrew that they went to the crib in their own room.

First kid 4 months, second kid 2 months, neither child is welcome into our bed, although that doesn't stop the youngest from trying on occasion. She ends up in the dog bed on the floor next to my side. My Shephard hates it!

About 1 year 3/4.

with my son we moved him to his own room when he wasn't nursing at night any more, mainly cause the layout of our apt at the time was weird and his room was ALL the way on the other side it..i was just too lazy to walk that far 2-3 times in the night..with my daughter, it was a couple of month after she stopped waking to eat in the night, because we wanted to wait until we moved when she was 11 months so she'd have her own room instead of moving her twice

We used a family bed and kids moved out and back when they were ready. We agreee, if there was any aspect of parenting we'd do again for sure, it's the family bed.

With my first son I slept on the couch while he slept in a basket for the first 2 weeks, then I missed my hubby to much so I put him in his own room with a monitor. With my second son I slept on the couch for about four weeks and he slept in a bassinet. (my husband works and I don't so I wanted him to be fully rested for work.) Maybe three times with each kid they laid next to me in my bed while they were still nursing. This one will probably be the same.

Both my boys slept in my room for the first couple months, but not in the bed. I had them in their carrier or swing. I'm not a "share the bed" kind of person. I was lucky that they never came in and slept with me and my hubby during the night....they had no problem staying in their own rooms.
