This thread will be just for fun. Let's say, in another life, brotha, it is right after season 5 and you have been chosen to write the finale any way you want to.

It can be funny, serious, dramatic, sad, sci fi, full of mythology, you can include space aliens , fill it with suspense or end it any way you want.

This is your chance to write - "The Lost Alternate Ending" script.

Oh, and you can answer as many of the mysteries as you want!

First of all I would take out the church scene at the end. I would make it a sci fi/adventure ending.

The ending would have a real island war between Jack his friends and the smoke monster. It will be bigger than any battle on Lost we have seen before. Smokie is destroyed.

Jack fails to restore the island and it sinks. The passengers on the plane almost get away but the light goes out. This time line is over, but when everyone on the island world dies the people in the alt world wake up and regain all their island memories.

The sideways world would have been a real alternate/possible future that, depending on the events on the island (does Jack protect the island? Does the MIB get away? is redemption achieved?) would merge into the timeline at some point inside island time.

Every question we've ever had about Walt, and whispers, and numbers, and tattoos, and horses, and Expose, and Cindy, and children, and babies, and everything else would be answered - because Lost would never end and would just keep getting better, like the Simpsons.

I would take out all the flash sideways. It was all a dream in their minds, anyways, in the afterlife.

None of it was real. Jack did not have a son.

If it "was" real when Locke could walk again he would go back with Jack to defeat the smoke monster.

They both would save everyone. They would be rescued and live happily ever after!

<<<THE END>>>

Jack does have a son in the alternate time line, but he's autistic. He spends all his time staring into a snow globe...

Ok, hmm...everyone makes it off the island and is safe. They're having a party at Hurley's house. Suddenly, Locke shows up, but you don't know if it's the real Locke or not. The suspense builds, and then it abruptly ends, answering nothing.

Jack fails to save the island, and it sinks. Kate is the only one who survives, paddling out to sea and being picked up by a ship. She makes it home, and the next morning wakes up and hears the shower running. She goes and looks, and it's Jack. She says "I had the weirdest dream..."

No good? Ok, they all make it off the island and return home. Ben gets mugged, and the rest of them stand and watch, considering it comeuppance. They get arrested and thrown in jail for failing to help. Jack does surgeries in the hospital in front of a tough audience.

Let's try this: Locke is about to hang himself in the hotel room. The door opens, but this time instead of Ben, it's Locke's gardian angel. Locke is taken on a journey to see what life would have been like if he had never been born. In an ironic twist, everyone is actually better off without him. Locke kills himself anyway, and his guardian angel is reassigned to less important duties.

If Happy Days "jumped the shark" did Lost "turn the frozen donkey wheel"?

Can you think of some names for Lost's finale that describes it similarly to jumping the shark? Just for fun what phrases can you come up with?.

jump the shark

a term to describe a moment when something that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity. Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on water skis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show.
