You lost me there. I was aiming at our own government who started to condemn them but retracted.

I think he meant that any criticism of Israel is seen by supporters of Israel as anti semitism - Which of course is ridiculous.

Ahh I see.
The supporters of Israel are first to say it's ok to criticize Israel. When someone does criticize they are first to dismiss as anti-Semitism. I just don't understand how that little state has enough say in our government that you can't be anti Israel and get elected.
