ok so you admit there is no such thing....so why was it propped up as an explanation? that's not science.
They're not admitting there's no such thing, they're just saying they don't know what it is. And what could be responsible for the ability to change colors if it is not the genes?

As evolutionists only see parts, they have no explanation for the following...they have no explanation for it could possibly be that a whole, when subject to a new environment (such as a new predator) could change its color:

http://www.bigskycichlids.com/coloration_article.htm

We might soon though.

http://www.genome.gov/Pages/Research/Sequencing/SeqProposals/CichlidGenomeSeq.pdf

not to mention
http://cichlidresearch.com/contents.html

See that Guz? Rather than proclaiming goddidit and closing the book on an interesting question, people are out and about looking for answers.

EDIT: try goggling "Cichlids genetics". I am quite surprised at just how much work is being done.

But that's the real problem with fundies, they don't realise how muh work has to go into answering every single question they can come up with.

I'd hate to think how many man-hours were spent detailing the proteins and genes and functionality of the bacterial flagellum, only to realise that several of the pieces work really well in bacterial secretory systems - much to the dismay of Prof Behe.

It really is much easier to poke holes in evolution than to defend it with hard, sound evidence - but each time the answers keep coming, and more nails are driven into the coffin.

And as I have done you the disservice of answering your question, I would apprecitate your reponse to one of these:

If evolutionists see only the parts and creationists see only the whole I'll be in neither camp. For I can see the beauty in a single snowflake or a whole mountian covered in snow. I can see the beauty in a single leaf, a tree or a forest. I can see the beauty in planets and suns that are huge and far away or on a slide uunder a microscope very very close.

Of course so can most evolutionists and creationists I have ever met. Though it seems there are a few who don't want to admit any good in anyone on the other side of an issue.

I find the whole of today's science truly revolting. It's very premise nausiates me and I reject it.

...and yet here you are posting on the Internet. If what you say is true, why haven't you tossed your computer away, turned your back on household electricity supplies and modern medicine and taken to living in a cave?

Like what? butterfly wombs?

I thought you were banned from here Supersport but I guess you couldn't help "invading" this forum as you put it.
I just love Buttefly Womb soup.

Don't forget that Supersport/Guzman also believes that eyes reach out for light and see everything in real time, regardless of how far away it is.

And also he accepts some wierd form of Lamarchism. Although he never volunteers to test it himself - it's always "it's my hypothesis, so you test it"!

Supersport you really do like keeping people amused don't you?

Yep. This supersport:

To tell you the truth i don't even pay attention to half the things you people say....I don't even know one of you from the next....you all roll up into a big pile of nonsense -- I just come on here for my own entertainment. TE...I don't even know who you are......I don't even look at names on here for the most part.

Now what do you want me to answer specifically...?

I wonder, if he had lived during the time of Sir Isaac Newton, Johannes Kepler, Faraday, Watt, Ohm, Ampere, Volta, Pasteur, Lister, Tesla, Edison, Alexander Graham Bell, Kelvin, Marie Curie, Joseph Salk, Florence Nightingale and Edward Jenner not to mention a whole slew of others that helped pave the way for modern society if he'd be saying the same thing.

The fact that these scientists tried to understand the physical world around them, they actually helped make the world a better place, especially when it comes to advances in medicine and other fields.

Every time you ask for the temperature, you should thank Celsius or Fahrenheit.

I issue a challenge to him to go study up on the above list for starters.

Oh, also Mendel, the father of genetics.

Well, if it's not genetic then what the heck is doing it? What is your hypothesis that is more likely than it being a genetic trait, especially considering that it is passed from generation to generation just like any genetic trait would be? You don't need to know the gene, we can infer that it's genetic .
