The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish bot for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Listen, O heavens, and hear, O earth;
For the Lord speaks,
Sons I have reared and brought up,
But they have revolted against Me.
An ox knows its owner,
And a donkey its master's manger,
But Isreal does not know,
My people do not understand.
Alas, sinful nation,
People weighed down with iniquity,
Offspring of evildoers,
Sons who act corruptly!
They have abandoned the Lord,
They have despised the Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away from Him.
Where will you be stricken again,
As you continue in your rebellion?
The whole head is sick,
And the whole heart is faint. Isaiah 1:2-5

Come now and let us reason together,
Says the Lord,
Though your sins are as scarlet,
They will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,
They will be like wool.
If you consent and obey,
You will eat the best of the land;
But if you refuse and rebel,
You will be devoured by the sword.
Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken. Isaiah 1:18-20

Behold, the Lord's hand is not so short
That it cannot save;
Neither is His ear so dull
That it cannot hear.
But your iniquities have made a seperation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:1+2

From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 4:17

If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2Chron 7:13+14

Do you not remember what you were like when you were first saved?  Newly saved people are "on fire" for God but don't know the first thing about Him.  The devolpment of godly attributes isn't something that happens the second we are saved.  It's happens over the course of our lives.  Even the Apostles pleaded to Christ for Him to increase their faith.

God bless

I'm sorry, but this doesn't mean much to me. What is "saved?" I never understood that expression.

Coming from a skeptic, to a general belief in God, to a Catholic faith, I don't think accepting Christ is a singular event, if thats what you are talking about?

Well, I'm not sure I'm the one to answer this question.  I seem to have a different belief than most people on this board.  I believe that there is a difference between when God sovereignly regenerates us (saves us) and the time/day/event that we recognize as being when we became a child of God (became saved).

Well, "accepting" Christ as Lord is, in my opinion, a lifelong process that is more commonly referred to as sanctification.  As I said though, I view the quickening of the spirit unto salvation to be something that is based solely on the counsel of God, not on a decision I've made.

God bless
