I knew a Kelsey and a Brooke in high school back in 1990.

While we're exchanging stupid name stories, here's one:

My cousin works in a maximum security prison. One of his inmates is called "Pretty Boy." Of course most prisoners have nicknames, but this guy was in no way pretty, nor did he look like someone who would relish the nickname "Pretty Boy." So my cousin is trying to find new inmates to work on this special assignment, and he's going through inmate files to find suitable inmates. He runs across Pretty Boy's file, and sure enough, that's his real name. I'm not saying that his parents' choice of name caused him to be a murderer/rapist/bank robber or whatever he did to get put in jail, but it probably didn't help if he ever tried to get a legitimate job.

Oh how horrible!

A few months ago, me and my girlfriend were walking along the main street of South Dunedin, and we looked at at a doctor's clinic. One of the doctors whose names were listed by the door was "Dr. Tree [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]"

Also, my friend told me that he went to school with a girl called "Star Power".

That's just stupid. Children are unique creations of God, not accessory pieces for you to show off your stupid sense of humor.

I name my cats and dogs more respectable names than some of those.

The only thing I can think of is that they had no idea of what it means.

Boy, there were some real strange names of members of a credit union I used to work at in the South. They'd call up and I'd bring up their account, and their names were these:

Angel Wings
Teddy Bear
Special
Delicious
Someone had triplets called: Razzoline, Gazzoline, and Vazzoline
Quibula
Fintila
Orange Peel (pronounced French like oran pele)
