For those who saw Pirates of the Carribbean 3

I was actually kind of disappointed in the 3rd movie. There was too much going on at once and some of writing seemed a bit cheesy.

I'm just glad they kept it relatively clean - other than the whole bad-pirate theme 
I think they repeated too many jokes and weird stunts - the 2nd and 3rd movie didn't seem to have the "freshness" like the first one did.

Both Pirates 2 and 3 need to been seen several times before anyone can actually follow the two movies. It is very much like the Star Wars movies.
However, did you stay until the very end of the credits? They left the door open for a 4th movie.

How did that leave the door open to a fourth? If anything, it was a great conclusion to the story. It brought closure to the whole thing.

I've only seen it once so I can't really remember, but didn't the little kid at the very beginning (who dropped the coin), bear a striking resemblance to the kid shown after the credits? It's probably not related in any way but it just caught my attention. Any one else notice that?

Seriously though, the most noticeable thing about that movie was the fact that it was 3 hours long and stopped making sense after the first 45 minutes.

I didn't think they would ever end! The screen would go black, you'd think it was coming.....and then more credits, over and over again. I never wanted to fast-forward so bad in my entire life.

First of all, no all the good ideas aren't used up, at least that's what my husband hopes...he's writing a book!
Here's my take....on all 3
Loved the first movie. Clever and funny and to think they can base a movie on a Disney Park ride. One of my all-time favorite rides at that!
Pirates 2....
Groan!
I really disliked the movie...as much as I loved the look of it. The writing was NOT good....and except for the last 45 minutes, I found it boring.
Pirates 3....
Better than 2, a far-cry from 1. Again, loved the look of the movie...the acting was fine.
But the story! Oh my goodness....so confusing and nonsensical. It's not the director that needs to be shot....they need to get new writers, although I'm against shooting anyone over a mere movie! (not big on shooting anyone, anyway!)
I hope there are no more...Love Johnny Depp, but yeah...I'm not looking forward to anymore of this....uh...."story".

Dear I hate to break it to you, but there is nothing new under the sun as far as stories go. It's nice that your husband is writing a book, but there is probably another story somewhat like it. Not to discourage writing, or making movies....or anything. Such a wise sage for someone 16...boy do I wish I knew you in person, I would have a blast chatting with you, as I really enjoy folks your age. *runs to add you to my buddy list* Yeah, I know there is nothing new under the sun....but yet, about 50K new books get published a year! So, I'm still holding out hopes for the book!

I know a bazillion books are published a year,but one quick look in Barns and Noble in any section tells that you that they are all pretty much the same. Most books are just spinoff of some classic book, except maybe romance novels. They are just wrong and should all be burned, any auther who even thinks about writing a romance novel should be burned....

Gee, I sure hope some day you're able to develop some strong opinions....never too sure what it is you're thinking!
Yeah, the stories are all working around a common theme, that's true. But still...I have hope that there will be a great audience for the book my husband is writing. I know I'm partial, but time will tell!
Boy, we've turned this thread into a book discussion thread instead of a movie thread about Pirates 3.
